She lives in and has guests in her house. Not so with her car. That simply moves her from one place to another.

Nope, you could eat your dinner off the floor in both our house and her cars.

My ex is like this. Extremely house proud and her car is a mess. Which I find doubly frustrating because I’m a car valeter/detailer as a little hobby/side job.

At least when I clean her car now I’m paid for it though.

In cash.

My house sparkles. My car is like its been driven through a tip with the windows down and a high wind. Not sure how that happened...

My car and house are immaculate. Well more clean and tidy, with everything in its place.

I use my car as a verhical. I towed a box trailer and motorbike trailer. Picked up my sons mountian bike with a flat. All in the last week. It currently has 2 large boxes in ready for delivery somewhere. - fem.

I've got the most immaculate house, spotless and like a showhouse.....

And then there is my car.....!! It's diabolical and i admit it! Empty Costa cups, saddles, bridles, old junk mail, straw, hay, dog hair, wheelbarrow, buckets etc etc! One car in the past, i actually had a family of fieldmice living in the boot

My house is immaculate.

My car is tidy but rarely hoovered. It gets washed more and then when I pass a hand car wash and have time.

My car is tidy in the sense there is no rubbish or anything. But I rarely clean it. Not sure why, it just gets me from A to B I suppose - I don't live in it!

I’ve found some disgusting things in cars that I’ve valeted. And it’s about 50/50 between who is worse between men and women. Women accumulate more rubbish in cars but it’s the left over/spilled food I’ve found in men’s cars.

My car has some shopping bags in the boot, a pair of glasses in the cupholder and a pair of sunglasses and a cloth in the drivers door. That's it. I don't keep anything in there, even rubbish.

I also don't wash it ever - I had a car I sold after 6 years that had been washed twice (both times when being serviced).

Not exactly a shit-tip, but also not overly smart. It's a smart casual car.

My car is a mess. The boot has dog stuff in it for our walks, the back seat has kids toys dotted around the place. The front is a bit like a Sunglasses shop, with Our Price thrown in, as I have shedloads of CD’s (out of their covers!) rammed in a little space.

For some people a car is just a tool for a job. It takes them from A to B and back and that’s it.

However I keep all our cars clean and tidy. It seems the cars are my responsibility and the house has ended up as Lily’s.

Pink jobs and Blue jobs apparently, and cleaning the car is a blue job.

I’m happy keeping them clean as I enjoy detailing them. What’s odd though is Lily follows a load of car detailers on YouTube and loves watching their videos. Yet she isn’t interested in helping me!

I think it's when your house is clean and tidy you don't like bringing stuff in from the car to mess the house up and when we spend so much time working, cleaning, cooking, running about you really can't be assed cleaning the car as well. I don't live in my car. It just gets me from A to B and I'll say half the shit in it doesn't belong to me. It's others peoples crap. I do try and keep it clean. I really do but if you saw my house and the inside of my car you would think it was 2 very different people

I will say also men keep their cars immaculate but can't put a wet towel in the laundry or put work boots away so it works both ways

It's easier to just apolgise about the mess than tidy it if I have to transport anyone other then the family in my car. If I tidy it, it just gets grubby again anyway.

My car was all sparkly and shiny despite its age. Then I parked it at a certain someone's house.

What a mistake that was. I either break the car going to his or it gets crapped on from great heights and covered!

I know a woman whose car was the archetypal skip, staked full of gawd knows what. One day, she went through a hedge and rolled it. The inside looked no different afterwards.
