not by who started them, but many because of what's said. Especially as the thread progresses; many a time I've thought "this is interesting", read on and thought "oh, car crash coming", then "ffffuck, run awaaay".
The most frustrating ones are the real fireworks displays that while you're reading war and peace back and forth, getting ready to chuck a grenade in the mix... get closed by the mods |

"No, there are definitely sometimes thread titles which make me steer clear though!
"
Those “don’t touch wet paint” type threads I can’t resist sometimes lol sometimes what I read in them can’t be unseen

Sometimes..
There are certain forum members who post the same thinly disguised topic each time or are fishing for info or compliments.
I just avoid them as the responses are all generally the same as last time. |

Definitely not, I love the car crash posts you can spot them a mile away, but that's just me letting my sadistic side out. Watching people get hot under the collar makes me chuckle....god I'm weird |

Thing with car crash posts is, at least people are expressing their opinions and showing something of their true self, even if that's unutterably stupid and a million miles from one's own point of view. I prefer that to bland what's for breakfast threads. |

Nothing wrong with the breakfast threads, it's nice to have balance, but the car crash threads are the best |

I don’t avoid the Op only the thread content, for example if it’s someone who continually starts threads about themselves I will avoid as i don’t like to pander. |

Some people post repeat or similar threads each time, and if I know I'm not interested in those topics I'll avoid them, but if that person posted a different type of thread, I definitely wouldn't avoid it. It's more the topic than the OP, I guess.

"Do you deliberately avoid threads based on who started them?"
I ignore very very very many threads. Not usually based on who started them but on the title or on the theme. I have drifted into ignoring certain thread starters because I know the absolute fucking drivel that they repeat day in day out day in day out hour after hour after fucking hour of every day of every week throughout the year.
Those threads belong on the GAMES section. I believe they are no more than games.....
Now then ..... that doesn't mean I don't think the poster/s should stop. I took a decision that's right for me. I'd rather read something scrawled in green crayon on a cell wall. |

This - as it makes the distinction clear between topic and poster. I don't avoid any individual, I will ignore their threads.
Some have taken it as ignoring the individual. I didn't interpret the question that way.
We ignore magazines and newspapers and t.v. progammes on the same basis. We have a better than good idea of what's coming. |

Yes quite often. Sometimes because they are obviously trolling and sometimes because they are repetitive validation threads designed to garner compliments and have everyone tell them how amazing and original they are for starting the same thread they did a couple of weeks ago. |

"Avoid any virus thread like the plague…."
Bearing in mind how little effort people actually make to avoid an actual plague, that doesn’t carry the weight you’d expect it to nowadays |
