Just a couple of HMs for me this year then back onto ultra marathons next year. I've never fancied a marathon.

Yep, Manchester in October. It’s been tough doing the long slow runs in this heat. Started using the hydration backpack which I had only used for ultras before which has helped but not sure whether to aim to race with it or just grab what’s at the drink stations on the day.

I want to do the millennium way ultra as I need to beat my time! The gritstone grind in September. And I haven't looked at any others yet.

Good luck and good luck to all training.

It's hard slog the last few weeks are the worst when the fatigue set's in, very easy to overtrain.

Sadly my running days are over thanks to covid forking my lung's but miss the feeling of being able to run for a couple of hours and feeling like it was a walk in the park.

I’ve got my eye on a couple near me, a lot of the ultras tend to be laps which bore me. I’ll start with a marathon as I’ve had a few niggles this year

Used to really enjoy ten milers great distance.

Short enough to run hard long enough to build endurance.

I did one in April and it was different. All the food had to be individually wrapped and everyone had to approach it one at a time and use hand gel before we went over. But there was still music and people milling around. We just didn't get too close to anyone.

I marshalled one last September too and it was a bit different but still fun.
