So tonight on ITV there was a very interesting and revealing documentary about hidden disability and the difficulties people face.
One of the biggest issues people people faced was being challenged by members of the public for using disabled toilets or parking in Disabled bays with blue badges and generally judgements from people.
I would really advise people to watch this because its a real eyeopener. |

I have multiple hidden disabilities. None require a disabled spot or loo luckily but it's hard when everyone keeps forgetting. Also if I'm having a particularly bad flare up, walking ans standing can become very painful and I'm always so on edge if I ever use the priority seat on a bus or train that I just look like I'm being selfish and someone might say something. |

I very much understand the feeling particularly with the priority seats.
In London you can get badges from TFL that you have to apply for that say please offer me a seat. I have had no issues since wearing it and find most people are really helpful and understanding. Is there something similar where you live? |

I shall have to watch it on catch up, really good to raise awareness. I get people making assumptions all the time with my sons, but they have a few hidden disabilities each. I’ve developed a very thick skin and give the look now that people avoid. I also have to use a disabled loo at times, luckily I’ve not had much issues, and even my local Aldi let me use the staff loo if I’m having a bad time with my stomach.
I just think more people should be aware that not every disability is visible x |

Not that I know of. I don't use public transport that much anymore though luckily. |

I genuinely think most people dont go out of their way to cause problems for people with disabilities hidden or otherwise but they also dont consider that others may have different needs. |
