Generalisation...

I know it won't happen but it would be so much better if there wouldn't so much generalisation... We are not apples... Just because one person is moldy that doesn't mean the next one will be as well...

Even do I understand why it is happening. I don't understand why is it so spread in here? ...Defeats the point of being sociable and open minded...

Generalisation isn't in itself a bad thing.

It's very useful to sometimes be able to categorise different types of people, activities and... anything really.

When it becomes a problem is when someone focuses more on a generalisation rather than a person's individuality, or they treat them poorly based on that generalisation.

Treat everyone with equal respect, and their isn't really an issue.

I get the part where... It's not about the tool but who is using it and how is being used...

I think it's just the apprehension that is in all of us. We are constantly having to subconsciously convince ourselves that a bad experience wont happen again. Most generalisations happen from bad experiences, even though it's not exactly the way to go about life. As long as it's not racially, or hatefully motivated. It's the way of all of us sometimes.

Unfortunately people just get lumped together based on some attributes. Gonna be years until people aren't...if ever!

My pet hate generalisation is that CDs are sissies and like being addressed like some girlie sex toy. Nothing further from the truth, in some cases.

That’s the problem with people who generalise, they’re all the bloody same.

Or why it always has to be either "Apples or Oranges". Why they can't go along together.

I have to disagree with this.

Hey, each to their own.
