What method do you use to warm up cooked chicken the next day, just wondering what the best way is without drying it out, I thinking steaming it, any good ?! |

To be honest, after cooking or taking cooked chicken from the fridge, the best it will taste is at room temperature.
After cooking allow to cool before wrapping and storing in fridge. When out of fridge for an hour, eat. Either with bread and pickles or warm mash and pickles.
Unless, stored or handled badly it won’t kill you.
Reheated cooked chicken unless in a weekday curry will never be great, |

If it’s left over from a roast diner I usually slice what’s left and add it to any left over gravy, next day I just reheat it slowly in the pan of gravy. Other than that I wouldn’t reheat it at all |

"Stir fried quickly at a high temp with egg fried rice or noodles. Reheated chicken always tastes a bit rank but I've found this the best way. "
I always add it at the end too as the longer you reheat for the worse it tastes. |

I actually buy a whole chicken once a week and cook it, shred it, store it in the fridge and then make 2 or 3 dinners out of it the next few days. I thought it was fairly normal.
I make curry, pies, sweet and sour, casserole, fajitas, pasta bake or even just warm it in a pan and then add to toasties etc. I've never found it tastes funny or anything and I've never been ill.

It doesn't make you ill it just doesn't taste the same as when freshly cooked. Something to do with the science behind reheating it. You get it with all meat but its more noticeable in chicken. |
