Yeah still think I took a few pain killers but I'm a man, and you know how we suffer with the dreaded man flu.

Felt like being stabbed afterwards but recovery very quick.

I think I was in that much pain before I had the op, anything after was a bonus so I was probably still high from the drugs

I didn’t have a high enough BMI for NHS and didn’t even consider it. The system in U.K. doesn’t work - to go on the pre-list you have to go on their diet for 2 years and then wait (which after Covid delays will probably never happen) I went to a fabulous private hospital in Turkey, with full A and E and ICU. Cleanest place I have ever seen and the Drs are highly skilled and specialists. You stay in hospital for 1 week - cost me £2600 plus air flights. I have lost 4.5 stone and got about 3/4 stone left to get to my target. Best money I ever spent.

Yeah I’ve just had my dietician referral through. My bmi is high for my height and with added endocrine issues I should be a fairly high priority but we shall see. I know you’ve got to jump through hoops. Would you mind sending me a message about your surgeon/hospital/ etc.

Obviously travel is a pain with Covid at the min but it’s something worth considering for sure x

Interestingly, a lady I went to uni with, who is absolutely miniscule and petite (size 4-6) recently needed gallstone surgery. I have no idea about her use of contraceptives, but I must say I was surprised when she said why she was going to hospital. Obviously one person does not make a rule or trend, but still, I was surprised.

is there still room for one more on the gallbladder bus?!

It was keyhole surgury, but my scars say otherwise (although, I have seen the scars of a non-keyhole gallbladder removal and they look like the op was done by the dude that fucked up Mel Gibson at the end of Braveheart!)

Can’t send you a message as outside your age range. The hospital is called Irmet Hospital in Istanbul. They have three Facebook groups you can join - one for weight loss surgery, one for plastic surgery and one for nutritional advice for after wls.

Rapid weight LOSS also causes it too, it's tricky to avoid if you're a bit bigger and trying to lose some weight!

This happened to my friend. She was on some fad diet rapidly losing. Time and time again until she messed up herself and was in awful pain. I didnt know there was a link? Thankfully sorted now but waiting through covid time and keeping weight off for surgery was tough.
