Are you happy with your weight? Do you weigh yourself regularly? And for the ones comfortable, do the reveal?
I’m gonna use kg as it’s easier
My current weight is about 62-63kg and I’m happy with it. My lowest was 58 (when I was too obsessed about it many moons ago) my heighest maybe 67-68kg
I don’t check the scales near as much now, but I have to be careful as my bod doesn’t burn as much

Not yet. But it's consistently going down so I'm happy with that. Just not the pace, too many health obstacles along the journey. But then yo-yo effect can f..k off. Swings and roundabouts |

In short, no, I'm not happy with it.
It has crept up on me over the years.
Ideally I'd like to lose around 3 stone.
I'd be happy with dropping 2.
I'm rubbish at dieting and exercising though |
Reply privately (closed, thread got too big) | |
Not really much I can do about mine, I used to be a size 6-8, now more of a 12.
Down to ill health and medication that made me put about 3 stone on!
Lost some when I stopped it, but settled where I am now.
I don't really eat much, but I can't move enough to change it lol so yeah, here we are, more to love |

Not happy with having put back on the 3 stone I lost a couple of years ago. I could blame lockdown but it's my own lack of willpower and greedy nature. It wasn't helped by lockdown as I had to stop my daily swimming, but old habits do die hard and I know the motivation hasn't been there for me to do anything about it.
I'm back on it now but I won't be obsessively weighing myself like I was last time I lost weight. I'm more chilled about it now. |

I'm happy with my weight. I keep an eye on it because a drop or increase is a sign that my thyroid medication is wrong.

I put 2 stone on over the last year, partly giving up smoking and chomping too many magnums, and partly being immobile on crutches for 6 months.. I feel uncomfortable but have to accept it’s a slow path back. |

Just shy of 58kg and at 5’9’’ I’m probably slightly underweight but it’s not intentional as I pretty much stay the same no matter what I eat or do, I weigh myself every couple of months not really sure why |

People get too focused on weight…. But it’s so ouch more …. Measurements, how you feel within yourself….getting on the scales too often isn’t beneficial. How clothes fit is a good indicator, or how you look in the mirror….just don’t become obsessed and as long as you’re happy and life is balanced then it’s all good… we all need treats |

I'm not happy with my body weight. I used to be a runner and was quite trim. After an accident I wasn't able to run for a long time and the weight piled back on. I'm now too big to just pick it up again and will need to lose some weight first.
Having said all that, I'm quite happy to strut my stuff in the buff during meets. |

I hate the way i look at the moment, i weight myself regularly, I've lost what i put on during lock down, just over a stone.
My medication doesn't help my weight.

I still keep track of calories because that works for me and I'm a huge snacker so it helps me not gorge on too much and plan my meals better. I refuse to go up yet another dress size as that would mean buying an entire new wardrobe!! |

I don't have scales because I know I will obsess
I can tell by my clothes whether I am bigger than normal
I know my weight has only risen by 3 kilos in 3 years
I am heavier than I should be though
Pretty much always have been
My weight is in proportion
Unfortunately, it is in proportion with someone who is 6ft6 |

I'm happy in myself but I'd like to lose some weight. I'm not fussed about it happening quickly and so don't deprive myself of nights out or nice things now and then. Had quite a few nights out recently celebrating my birthday so back on the calorie counting as of tomorrow (today is a recovery day ).
Last weighed on Friday and was 256lb (116kg). I used to be terrified of people knowing my weight but don't care now.
I will weigh myself daily as much as possible as it keeps me honest and helps me to see what has impacted it. Hydration, nutrition and sleep have a great impact.
On Monday last week I weighed 260lb, on Tuesday 255lb...all water weight after a weekend where i ate out and drank a fair bit. |

I have no idea how much I weigh. I know I gained weight because I felt and saw it. But I'm starting to slowly lose it again.

I've just today got to 3st lost.
I'd like to lose another 1 or 2st.
My weight has fluctuated most of my adult life but I think I have found a way to manage my weight more effectively now. Now it's time to start exercising consistently.
The biggest stand out for me is that I gained confidence due to accepting my body as it is, I don't love it but I do appreciate it. |

I was 9 and a half stone when I was working 2 jobs and went to the gym 6 days a week and done weight training
I'm now just under 12 stone. I put that down to not working 2 jobs and not been back to the gym. None of my clothes fit me so had to buy all new clothes. I have however gained 2 cup sizes and an arse I never had before. I'd like to just lose enough to keep my bum and boobs and get into my clothes

I’m a size 14 which is exactly where I feel comfortable in my clothes. I’m around 11 stone which according to most is over weight for my height but I’m comfortable here. I enjoy my food and I don’t plan to live a life watching what I eat all the time. I’d like to be the type that went to gym just to tone up a bit but I don’t have the confidence to to use the equipment or ask for the help so I packed that idea in
I used to care how others saw me, especially men but I’ve outgrown that now and if I’m not someone’s type that’s fine by me |

Beginning of this year I lost 3.5 stone and have kept it off, would ideally like to lose 2 more stone but haven’t shifted any lbs for months now. Need some motivation back. |

My mother was obsessed with her weight. She was always on a diet and down about her shape and size. I had to battle hard not to continue in her footsteps.
I don't have scales in the house and guage myself on how I feel in my body. I encourage my son and daughter to do the same. Fitness and well being are reliant on more than how much we weigh.

I don't know how much I weigh, nut I have lots of health problems so sometimes get weighed when I see the nurse. Sometimes they lack sensitivity and choose to tell me without asking. Let's just day I weigh a LOT more than I would like, and should. I don't know what my weight in kg is in stones but I could do with losing a couple if stone. I lack muscle tone so my weight really is mostly fat. Sadly it's not on my boobs.
I get people like body positivity and confidence but sometimes you just despise your reflection.
I know what BDD is like and it's not easy. I don't think i would be happy at any size but I really need to lose weight and get fit. |

It's bad that your Dr/nurse are so unthinking. I presume they know how you feel about knowing your weight?
It's so hard for some people of any size to be body confident, especially in today's social media culture. They will always find something that isn't' right'. |

Being lazy.
Stop eating rubbish food and sitting on your backsides watching TV.
And if your going to watch TV place a rowing machine or spin cycle in front of it and work out.
No ifs no buts. No excuses.

I agree. I find that there aren't a lot of people my size put there that talk about body confidence.
I'm mid size, and I tend to see a lot of very slim and toned people or plus size, which is fine but there aren't so many who are a size 10-12 so it's hard to know where I fit in
I've not looked after my health in the past so I'm really unfit and do need to work on exercising and getting myself stronger. Being visually impaired is making that harder as I can't just go out hogging and it's a bit risky using gym equipment unless at home. I live with a hoarder so I'm very, very limited for space even in the garden. It's frustrating but I hope I can find a way to get fit. It's good for your mind and overall health which is most important.

I've used the motivation of others to drive myself.
One man was living in a room so small he could close the front door and rear window without getting off the bed.
In that room he had a typewriter. He was doing 2 jobs so working 15 hours.
Spent 3 hours a day in the gym and still had time to sleep go to acting school and write.
He was given tickets to see Muhammad Ali fight and it inspired him to write one of the greatest motivational movie scripts ever.
And Rocky was born.
Same with Schwarzenegger. These people are the elite at proving you can be the best, because they all had nothing.
They believed didn't listen to the doubters.

For about 30 years I didn't have scales. Because I didn't want my daughters to weigh themselves and become conscious of weight. I always taught them it was good to have a bit of flubber so that when you're ill your body can use it.
I currently weigh 51kgs. I'm 1kg heavier than last year but I think it could be due to high levels of something on my blood tests that is known for increasing weight.
And if it isn't then I don't mind. |

I very very rarely weigh myself, I’m comfortable in my body but I’ve lost most of my muscle tone.
At my fittest climbing I weighed 9 stone and packed a lot of muscle, now I’m just under 8 stone.
I think as long as your comfortable in your own skin it really doesn’t matter |

Five years ago I realised that, at 17½, pushing 18stone I was too fat and, after cutting out bread, Hotel Breakfasts and sugary foods, got myself down to my current 14½ stone.
I would like to lose another stone, but have to summon up the self discipline to re-engage the diet! |

During my weight reduction drive, when I'd got down to 16 stoneish, I was found to be Type 2 Diabetic and also had a minor heart attack 2y ago.
Coupled with the much reduced wear & tear on my legs & back after carrying around so much surplus, I feel a lot fitter and am able to do some fairly heavy jobs trying to get my "garden" into some sort of order. |

I'm not happy with my weight at all. I'm probably the least confident I've ever been. I gained around 3 stone when pregnant and then a stone afterwards. I'm fortunate I don't carry much in my stomach, but I'm not happy with what I see in the mirror.
I'm slowly making changes, but with bad mental health it's a difficult journey. If only it was simple.
I try to remember to be kind to myself. And that our weight does not define our worth, and anyone who thinks it does belongs in the trash. |

Classic fighting gym talk, and I've even listened to many a motivational track with this essence. However, this is something to factor in... Obesity in a clinical sense is perceived by the medical community as a disease. A person that is obese may not be able to rely simply on willpower and pure grit. Biology (hormones for example) may be fighting against them. It therefore follows that obesity for many may well be a clinical issue and not simply laziness or lack of willpower. While it may be amusing to joke that the best diet in the world is just to put the fcuking fork down, it isn't quite as simple as this. (I am not suggesting you are making this joke, but it exemplifies the point). |

mate i thought i was happy put on some timber enjoyed my beer and food having a laff etc but found i was out of breath walking up a hill or sweating lots on warm days etc
only after losing a lot did i realise how better i felt like a hundred times better so glad i did even tho have more to lose
i know some people have medical issues etc but to be honest for most its lack of exercise and the wrong food and the reason they should care about their weight and size is health risks down the line heart issues strokes other diseases etc
i know people will come on here and say im 20 stone and the dr says hes never seen anyone fitter etc etc but thats the exception not true for most people
most people are at risk being fat not all and like i said some have medical conditions and cant help it but for most its better to lose weight for the long term health thats why they worry about it |

I’ve gained weight during lockdown. Lost my Mum last year after a long stay in hospital (not covid) which obviously didn’t help and I’ve still got the house to clear.
I’m 106kg and have recently signed up for the Swim22 challenge to raise money for Diabetes UK It’s 22 miles in 12 weeks and so far I’m at 2.2 miles in just over a week. I’m not diabetic but I have friends who are.
I’m hoping this will kick start a regular exercise regime for me. I was a keen swimmer as a teenager. |

Calorie deficit and you will lose weight. Genetics are a factor but you will not gain or stay the same if you burn more than you consume. I know 5ft 2 20st people who are now 9st through diet and exercise. Gastric band is good if you csn get one fitted and are morbidly obese but you have to work hard too. If you dont have time for the gym then get up an hour earlier and go for a brisk walk. Drink more water. Plan meals. |

The number on the scales isn't the issue. How I look and more importantly how I feel about how I look are.
I don't weigh myself regularly and I'm rubbish at being consistent with the eating well and moving more thing. Therefore I've no one to blame but myself. |

I have stabilised around 8.5 stone this last yr which is good for me. I dropped below 8 before that due to medical reasons and hated the way I looked. I struggle to keep weight on as one flare up can set me right back so I have to be really sensibly boring about what I can eat, which becomes a bit of a misery in itself. |

I want to reiterate that the spectrum of health, fitness and wellbeing is much more than how much you weigh.
Being smaller and lighter can be great if that matches your metabolism, bone structure and natural disposition.
Overweight or underweight doesn't always mean unhealthy, lazy or ill. It's good, however, to know what is best for your and your body and personality type. It changes as we age.

Being lazy.
Stop eating rubbish food and sitting on your backsides watching TV.
And if your going to watch TV place a rowing machine or spin cycle in front of it and work out.
No ifs no buts. No excuses.
It's a hard battle you gonna tell me your a loser?
I can’t stand attitudes like this one. You have just labelled every overweight person as lazy. That is just pure ignorance.
He did say apart from medical conditions...."
He very graciously did, didn't he
And what of hormones.... They play a big part and what of mental health. I'd suggest that being called lazy simply because you don't have the 'excuse' of a medical condition might be quite damaging.
Let's so not forget psychological factors around weight gain. Past traumas with food etc.
Of course these could be lumped in with the term 'medical conditions' but they very rarely are.
People don't think food addiction is real. People don't think that fear of starvation can trigger binge eating etc.
Just waiting on another well known antifat user to chime in.
And now we see why some people further up the thread were reticent in divulging something so terribly personal as their weight on here. |

Sorry but calling overweight people lazy is a lazy comment, food addiction is a real thing, what do you call people hooked on drugs who wanna get clean? What about the alcoholic who wants to be sober? Most things we do to our bodies are addictive including people who work out, every person going through being overweight knows why and how to fix it....calling people lazy is not the answer my friend |

I never ever weigh myself, scales are banned from my house as they come with a health warning for me! I’m a size 8 but see myself as about a 14/16 when I look in the mirror! Doesn’t stop me from walking around a club naked so alls good , Miss PC |

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon |
I love all these weight threads. Because they're full of people who make sweeping statements about others, usually that anyone overweight eats too much and doesn't move enough. While in some cases that's true, in others it really isn't.
I don't move enough. Mainly because of chronic pain. When I can, I do.
But I also eat next to nothing, because I have an appalling relationship with food that was drilled into me at an early age. I feel guilty every time I eat anything (I was going to say put anything in my mouth, but that's just not true ) and in order for me to eat in front of people I have to be exceedingly comfortable.
I don't eat crap often at all because I don't have it in the house and can't afford takeaways anyway. The moment I have any kind of stress in my life, my digestive system rebels and I can hardly keep anything down at all. That used to only mean solid food. These days it can also mean something as innocuous as water.
And I'm fat. I'm massively overweight. And yet I suffer from malnutrition and technically am anorexic with bulimic tendencies.
My body holds on to any food I take in and doesn't let go.
About 10 years ago, with the bullying of my sister, I managed to find the strength to eat properly, and have never eaten so much in my life. I lost 10 stone and went down to 14 stone and a size 14. I was still overweight. I was going to the gym and swimming 5 days a week and running every morning. I walked everywhere. I was really fit, despite being still told I was overweight and still being fat.
And then I had my next operation on my back, and my next 5 over the years. And I almost completely stopped eating because I couldn't exercise. The weight still returned (some of it) despite the fact that as soon as I was able each time I was walking everywhere and swimming again.
So to everyone who is making sweeping statements about calorie deficits, about fasting, about eat less and move more, stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
I've got a much nicer shape now than I've ever had. My body seems to have settled at its happy weight and shape. And I'm learning to love it.
That's all that matters. Not a number on a scale.
Unless you have a health problem (and I'm including mental health here) that is DIRECTLY connected to you being over or underweight, my advice is stop worrying about the number and try to learn to love yourself. |

Yes he did. He always digs at overweight people. So everyone apart from those with medical conditions are lazy? I feel it is ignorance to the issues that allows people to talk like that.
How is it acceptable to label a whole group of people of being lazy? It isn’t, it’s just plain rude.
It's very rude indeed. And doesn't help anyone. I don't see the need to label people like that.
I wouldn't mind but I know plenty of people who are slimmer than me yet I'm more active and have a much healthier diet. Yet, nobody is calling them lazy and telling them to exercise.
I don't see the need to be unkind. You never know why someone is the weight they are. It's completely unnecessary.
Agreed.
Wouldn’t it be refreshing if just once, one of these threads popped up and no one labelled others?
Can’t see it happening though "
Exactly, I have pcos and it makes it extremely hard to lose weight due to the major hormone imbalances I have. I could live on a minimal amount of calories but still struggle to drop weight, fore finding a go that knew the condition and getting the right medication to help with my hormones and damn hard work I got there, but it wasn't easy and wouldn't have even happened if I didn't have someone listen to me when I explained my issues |

I won’t weigh myself as it has a negative effect on me. I work out at the gym 4 times a week and do workouts at home on top of that. It has no effect on my weight at all. I know it makes a difference though so I stick at it but knowing my weight just demotivates me.

"Try intermittent fasting ,16 fast 8 eating window. Initially ,done bother refining the diet just eat withing that window of 8 hrs.
I've read that gating isn't really good for women's bodies as our physiology is different. Read up about gut health and its effect on weight. I read that you should aim to eat 30 different fruit, veg, nuts, seeds and pulses to help with the diversity of your gut bacteria."
I’d disagree, I used to do 5:2, I’d do hiit training most days, including my fast days, I was super fit and toned, I even got my 6 pack back after having kids (I’ve lost it again now ) |

Mr KC is 6ft 4 and weighs about 72kg. How much exercise does he do? He walks places but that's it. In his own words, he's "allergic" to sports and exercise. He's hated it since school. He has very little muscle mass to the point I worry about what will be left when he starts to get old and lose muscle mass (as everyone does as after a certain age).
Mrs KC (me) weighs about 94kg. Yes, I'm fat/overweight. What exercise do I do? Gym; play wheelchair basketball; push 5 or 10k on the road; go horse riding and am going to be starting wheelchair track racing next week. I've always been active. At school, I represented in hockey, rounders, tennis and athletics. I competed at county level in discus. But I was ALWAYS overweight. Other than as a very young child, I have always been chubby.
My upper body is muscular and incredibly strong. I've lost significant muscle mass on my thighs (plus significant atrophy of my left calf) due to my inability to weight bear and walk much anymore.
I can push my fat ass up any incline that's been put in front of me. I've taken my chair up/down rocky cliff paths and across country. In the gym, I lift more than many guys. I can tow the best part of 100kg behind my chair on the prowler. Etc.
No matter how much exercise I do, I've never been able to get my weigh below about 88kg (that was in March 2020). The lack of formal exercise opportunities during lockdown has been really difficult. Despite there having been exemptions for organised sport for disabled people, all our venues closed completely and only reopened in May this year. It's incredibly difficult to lose weight using wheelchair based exercise.
Mr KC and I eat the same foods, I have much smaller portions. Yet he is as he is and I am as I am.
I despise my body, not just because it's fat, but also because it's broken. My vagina is broken. My leg/hip/foot doesn't work. My back and pelvis are knackered. My left shoulder seems to be starting to fall to bits too.
If anyone wants to tell me I'm lazy/stupid or whatever else, please come and say it to my face. And don't think I can't catch you if you run away - I overtake people on foot whilst pushing uphill. Slow fuckers |

My weight has yo yo’d for years and back in 2001 after splitting with an ex and crashing down with depression and eating bran flakes pretty much just to keep me going, I lost just over 7 stone. I’ve put it all back on and gained a stone with each pregnancy.
I also seriously damaged my sciatic nerve doing a Tae Bo exercise vid at home and that has left me with ongoing issues where my back can go from any little sudden movement. Even more reason to lose weight you’d think
I’ve watched my step dad die a sudden and horrific death brought about by his weight issues/diabetes/heart problems. Still I am overweight.
I have yo yo dieted to the point I now barely lose weight from dieting and yet I’m constantly on the go and the weight just sits there.
I have accepted my size now, I just try to live fairly healthily (except I drink a fair bit of pop). I really wish I had a better role model when I was younger instead of seeing my mum constantly battle her weight, constantly watch what she ate, doing all sorts of fad diets, taking dodgy diet pills. Someone who didn’t make her weight the sole focus of her life and me thinking that was normal.
My life has constantly had weight as background noise. Sometimes you can turn the volume down on it but it always gets louder eventually.
It’s draining. I have no emotional strength left for myself, after looking after everyone else, to get myself fit. And that is a pretty sad thing to be aware of.
So yes I may be lazy, and yes it is all self inflicted, I don’t want any pity, but sometimes people need to realise that weight issues are never THAT straightforward. Not if you dig deep enough.

"I love all these weight threads.
Unless you have a health problem (and I'm including mental health here) that is DIRECTLY connected to you being over or underweight, my advice is stop worrying about the number and try to learn to love yourself."
Another fighter!

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon |
"Mr KC is 6ft 4 and weighs about 72kg.
Slow fuckers "
You, woman, are fucking amazing. You're an inspiration every day.
And you rock |

"Are you happy with your weight? Do you weigh yourself regularly? And for the ones comfortable, do the reveal?
I’m gonna use kg as it’s easier
My current weight is about 62-63kg and I’m happy with it. My lowest was 58 (when I was too obsessed about it many moons ago) my heighest maybe 67-68kg
I don’t check the scales near as much now, but I have to be careful as my bod doesn’t burn as much
"
Not happy but doing something about it. |

I had a friend who was overweight and clearly miserable but could not stop eating all the wrong foods. She explained to me that as a child there was never any food at home and she was always hungry. Her mother was an alcoholic and did not really notice. When my friend left school she got a job and most of her wages went on food. She bought all the treats she had longed for as a child but never had. This was the start of a food addiction. We should never judge people as nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors and everybody has a story to tell. |

Nearly. I'm currently 65kg. I'd like to lose a little more. My heaviest was 84kg though so I've come a long way. |
