Worst and best Olympic sports.
Jump to: Newest in thread
Opinions are like arseholes...mine's clearly the best. but what are the best and worst Olympic events?
I love the Weightlifting. It's such a simple thing that you cannot help but want them to do well. "Lift it you Lithuanian gimboid!" I shout with zero authority or knowledge of the sport.
Worst is golf. Always Golf. Fuck golf.

Equestrian events. Was quite getting into the archery.saying that I've always loved the curling.
Why can't lawn bowls be an Olympic sport? Always wanted to try it.
Amd not just because I fancy having a shag on one of the greens. |

Yeah I get into the Archery too, I travelled around South Korea and it's their national sport, for the Rio games they basically built an exact replica of the Rio stadium to practice in.
I played a bit of bowls when I was a teenager, it's good fun to play and watch! I never did the deed on the green though...I was 15 and apparently unfuckable. |

"Agree with golf but also wtf do skateboarding, mountain biking and tennis have to do with the Olympics?
Bet the ancient Greeks didn't have them back in the day. "
Agree on Tennis, Olympics should be the top of any sport and a lot of the top players just don't even bother.
No one goes into Tennis dreaming of the Olympics. |

I like most of it. Just definitely not golf. Not fussed on the combat sports especially either. Otherwise I'm happy to watch most of it.
I especially like the equestrian events, track & field and swimming. |

Ex-Judo so any of the combat gets my interest.
Golf and Tennis confuse me as I thought the point of Olympics was that it was amateur based so most people don't make money on their sport but these two are worth millions at their top tier?
Looking forward to the climbing. |

Sport that would make more sense..
Darts, ultimate test of hand to eye coordination. Drugs testing would be a simple breathalyser and if you are under the specified limit you have to next your pint. (Infact I vaguely recall writing a GCSE English piece on why darts should be an Olympic sport).

I disagree. A lot of the best tennis players turn up. Football dhould be kicked out or forced to change to 5 a side or something |

I can’t stand the events where it’s based on a judges decision like gymnastics and diving, give me a sport where there is a clear winner not some random blokes opinion which can easily be biased and swayed |

Come on you know that in todays society "winners" aren't allowed.
We are surprised that they haven't dumbed down the medals so that everyone gets one (along with a bag of sweets) just for taking part. |

"Really don't get why horse dancing is an Olympic sport
Olympics for me is always associated with aerobic exertion taken to the limit. "
Again...... Golf?!?
Also, it takes a lot of core strength to make a horse trot sideways with just your leg and 4 fingers. Try it sometime and you'll see how physically demanding horse riding actually is. |

Oh and also basketball.
Full Harlem Globetrotters on court yesterday (oh sorry team USA) complete joke letting pros into the Olympics.
Mind you seeing them lose to a full amateur team would be a bit of a bonus we suppose. |

I enjoy pretty much alk sports at the Olympics apart from golf and I'm not keen on football.
I like that the Olympics is becoming more varied and including things like skateboarding and climbing.
My favourites are probably diving, athletics and am really looking for to the climbing. |

Favourites - aquatics, cycling gymnastics, tennis, track.
Least favourite - equestrian, weightlifting, table tennis, beach volleyball, field.
Don't even get me started on why skateboarding is in there. Why not hopscotch, leapfrog or tag? |

They should introduce audience wold cards (when stadiums can reopen). In the finals one person from the crowd can compete so we can see the difference that years of training makes or if some chancer could have a good day.
Also separate Olympics for those who want to do drugs, let's see just how far we can push the human ability |

For me y the Olympics are all about the athletics after that I like the swimming , gymnastics and the pursuit races in the velodrome. I don’t believe golf and tennis should be included as they have their own major tournaments but I know they were part of the Olympics in the 1920’s so I guess that’s why they are in. |

Well I was going to nominate 3 on 3 basketball as the worst. Not because it’s boring or anything like that. But simply because it’s not a sport. It’s basically a game you play down the park when there’s not enough of you for a full game. What will they add next cuppies!
I agree though Golf is fucking boring.

Skateboarding gold medals have gone to:
Japan x2
Brazil have two silver
USA have one bronze
Hardly USA being super dominant? In the park competition, one of the favourites for the women's event is Sky Brown (GB) - that'll be taking place later this week.
