Tin town

Watching TV tonight and just noticed an nhs advert... To eat better and exercise more.. That's all well and good.

Only thing was the nhs eat less eat better advert was sandwiched (yes I just did) between the following ads...

Coka cola

Inchs cider

Lidl more meat for less

Mueller yoghurt corners...

Just eat

Wonder what would happen. If we took this shit seriously and banned alcohol and food ads for a few weeks.

Seriously I don't believe anything will change.

Have sales of cigarettes gone down since advertising was banned and they can't display them in shops?

People are lazy. That's why just eat and other delivery services make millions.

Same with gambling.

They tap into human weakness then defend themselves with slogans telling you to stop when the fun stops.

When was losing any money fun?

I think they should tax the shit out of foods with processed sugar and use that money to subsidise the cost of vegetables and fresh food, so that families who struggle to food on the table can afford to eat healthily.

Yes. The high taxes and advertising ban on cigarettes has worked-smoking is at all time low level in UK. Would also boost home grown fruit and veg production.
