There is certainly a lot more interesting stuff in the trailer that shows it's a great and respectful followup to the original Ghostbusters movies.

We even get a cool looking zombie miner ghost which is a nice nod to the zombie taxi driver ghost from the first movie.

"It has decent reviews "

Indeed it does. Although some critics have bashed it for "pandering" to the fans of the original movies and ignoring the 2016 reboot.

Rule 1. Always ignore "professional" critics.

Rule 2. See rule 1

Regardless of any political views individuals may have, critics are meant to be unbiased and entirely focused on the movie for what it is, a movie. And so very few do that, on both sides of the debate. Often being far worse in pushing their views and agenda far harder than the movie they are praising/slamming ever does.

True. I'm pretty sure this movie will be great and will give what the fans have been waiting for since GB2 unlike GB2016 which did nothing but disrespect the fans.

I actually enjoyed the 2016 film...judge it on its own and nothing to do with the others

"I actually enjoyed the 2016 film...judge it on its own and nothing to do with the others "

It is still bad judging it in its own.

It was a borderline parody on the original movies.

The originals were clever and subtle comedy movies with a hint of horror/supernatural theme

The 2016 not only lowered the tone but went in a whole different direction and resulted in little more than that of slapstick fart jokes. It was essentially a glorified SNL skit. Not a flattering one.

They went for full on reboot, not continuation which was their first mistake. It wasn't a passing of the torch deal. It was a "look we can do this better" attempt. And it did itself no favours when the critics/creators/fans only defence of those disliking it was "you are sexist", when those against it had valid points about what was wrong with it.

Even if it was an original, not attempting to ride on the coat tails of what came before, it was a terrible and unfunny movie. Which is fine for people to like different things but it was riding coat tails with no respect for the original material.

The 2016 film was not made for ghostbusters fans it was made for a for a different audience. They lost alot of good will by doing that there is a making that film and respecting the original but they chose to burn those bridges.

It's kind of hypocritical that creators of GB2016 would call people "sexist" for not liking the movie when the movie itself was indeed sexist towards men seeing the male characters were either idiots or incompetent and the main characters shoot a giant ghost in the crotch.

I disagree. I really enjoyed it. I recently watched the original btw and thought it had aged terribly.
