I saw an extraordinary site today at a local convenience store in a local village. There were four men speaking fluent Dutch and all wearing wooden clogs. I don't know why they were there but my question is whether people in parts of the UK still wear wooden clogs. Perhaps up north somewhere in the old industrial towns .. |

Yes northerners wear clogs as they love the clippy clappy sound they make on the cobbles whilst walking their whippets.... |

Clogs are still worn in operating theares. Not like the traditional fully wooden ones though. They have like a wook/cork sole and the upper part is leather. With advancements in anti static materials though you now get a lot more that are similar to crocs. |

"I'm calling bullshit. I have lived in Holland and didn't once see anyone wearing clogs unless they were dressed up for something. "
I definitely saw workmen in Amsterdam wearing fully enclosed wooden clogs.. 100% true |
