I tend to listen to the radio much more than watch TV, and in the UK we're blessed with a great choice of music and talk.
Any personal radio favourites or recommendations ? Any niche online stations or podcasts to big up? |

Don't really listen to the radio
But podcasts, I'd recommend "The Tim Dillon Show".
It's on youtube as well as spotify. It's jet black humour, but I've nearly died laughing. |

"MiSoul or Magic Soul or 1Extra.
All time favourite is David Rodigan Show"
Totally with you on Mi Soul. There's one very similar called Delight radio but reception is often crap (it's got Mick Brown from Pat and Mick )
I also like planet rock. And LBC anyone? |

Some excellent recommendations, thanks all.
I’m mostly Radios 6,2 and 4 with a bit of Kisstory in the day but will definitely be checking out some of these. |

The Archers and I’m sorry I haven’t a clue on R4.
I like the re-runs of the old radio comedy classics on 4Extra. "
Sorry... is just comedy genius, was listening and laughing earlier today. |

There and to the left a bit |
On the rare occasions I listen to the radio 99% of the time it will be 5 Live - not only for the sport either.
If I want music I tend to prefer to listen to one of my own playlists and just hit shuffle - at least I know I'm going to like the songs and won't have to put up with ad breaks after every three of them |

Yes, forgot 5 live, my radio home of sport. Love Fighting Talk on a Saturday morning too. |

It really does depend on my mood.
Sometimes it’s Scala, sometimes 6 Music, I like to listen to Sara Cox on Radio 2 at drive time too. I try and catch Pop Master every day and if there’s Cricket on then TMS is always on. |

For anyone who likes soul, jazz, funk, etc try WWOZ on the internet. It’s an amazing community station from New Orleans which also has a lot of live events. |

It is good but gets a bit repetitive.
Worth a listen to though |

Back in the FM days it had great reggae and soul shows at the weekend. I can also remember Kiss being a Pirate Station and when they got a legal license ! Much less commercial in those days. |

"I'm biased. My own show and podcast.
Your own show, fantastic. Music or chat or both ?"
Music - all of which is unsigned / small label / independent music. Also live sets from the studio (when lockdowns aren't a thing), and me waffling, too. |

There are some excellent local broadcasters. I guess some prefer not to move to London ? |

I listen to the shipping forecast daily, in fact I bought the The very best of The Shipping Forecast, it calms me down and I see the world through eyes that are more lucid and my clarity of thought is enhanced. But I can’t get out of the habit of saying ‘Dogger, haha!’ every time they say ‘Dogger’ it’s a failing of mine and I have looked to address the problem. |

"Like a right mixture....
Radio 4 for comedy, especially ISIHAC,
Kisstory
Radio X
Radio 2 (I stop for pop master!)
Talksport"
Very similar to my own tastes. I like talk sport commentary but not all the chat. |
