I got a Dyson hoover as an engagement present in 1999 and still have the same hoover. It's had a few bits replaced, went on fire and randomly sounds like it's going to take off but still going strong |

I have a teenage mutant ninja turtles mug that I’ve had since I was 4. You can barely tell what it’s meant to be now because it’s that faded from trips round the dishwasher. That’s 33 years old now. |

"An Egg cup. It's in the shape of a shoe and I've had it since I was a little nipper"
Actually I’ve got a silver chicken shaped egg cup that was a christening present from my god parents. |

As it only had three new motors, two new bodies and a replacement extending hose? |

Replacement hose, plug, god knows how many fuses and it's got a nozzle which isn't the original and I can't for the life of me think why not

A few things, set of the first decimal coins in 71; childhood books given to me in 72/73; a teddy bear I was given by a nurse in hospital when getting stitches in 73; plus various items from family that mean nothing to anyone but me ranging from late 1800s to 1960s. |

My teddy was my sisters before me, I think he’s about 56 as well"
I'll have to ask my one if he knows your one |

Probably my buffalo shirt. Best £60 I ever spent on my Gucci kit for military. I still wear it now when I’m in the hills and it’s cold. Bought it back in 93

Slow cooker given to us not long after we got married it was my mums and she had had it since at least the late 70s. It is a really heavy one with a ceramic pot inside. Often use it during the winter. We do have a few antiques and the likes dotted around the house but that has to be the oldest most useful thing we own. |

A picture that my Dad gifted to me when I was small. The frame is an aircraft window by a Polish soldier and the picture is made out of foil against a black background.
I was fascinated with it and my Dad would hold me up to look at it, it was on my bedroom wall then I took it with me when I moved out. I have had it for 47 |

"I got a Dyson hoover"
This amuses me!
You know that it can't be a Dyson if it's a Hoover!! It's a vacuum cleaner ffs! Hoover makes vacuum cleaners, amongst other things, as does Dyson. Really wish people would stop calling their vacuum cleaner a hoover!! |

I saw a lad on telly once who’d won an award for the longest serving broom. It was over 25 years old. |

When I saw the title I was going to mention the telescopic back scratcher I bought the other day. It doesn't look like much but it does extend
I've still got the plates I took to Uni about 20 years ago, that's probably the oldest thing I've got. |

I've got my first teddy too, but I also own things that were first owned by other people (not sure if this counts?!) If that's being counted, then the oldest things I own is my Grandmother's jewellery. She had many Victorian pieces in her collection. |

My dear Uncle’s Harley, he told me that when I was big enough to ride it, I could have it. That was 52 years ago, it still runs, he is long gone and I can’t ride anymore! It looks fine in the garage anyhow… |

I wear my grandma's engagement ring"
I used to wear my Grandma's, but it's got very prominent diamonds and catches when I'm propelling the chair, so I stopped wearing it |

"How longs a piece of string?
Twice as long as it is from the middle to one end
Ok…….how longs half a piece of string then ?!
Dunno, you've got me on that one "
Take the distance from the middle to the end. Then halve that. Hey presto - a quarter. You're welcome |

In my elephants' graveyard of technology, I have a VIC20 and an Apple IIe.
I also inherited a Mechano-type wind up train that probably dates back to the 19th century, but if I said I'd had it all that time, I'd have to adjust my age on here!! |

The oldest working item is a 'vacuum cleaner' that I purchased in 1986; it still works perfectly!
The oldest keepsake is a stuffed toy from my childhood; perfectly preserved.
The most ancient item I owned is a type of fruit tree that was brought to these islands by the Romans; very very rare specimen. |

I was going to say a commemorative plate of my birth, still in its original packaging, but realised the postmark is 01-08-73. I've a doll that's older than that - Christmas Day 1970. |
