"Just read an article on Amber Luke who has 98% of her body tattooed.
I thought she looked stunning before....what got me was she has her eyeballs done
Would you go to that extreme??
"
I have several tattoos and like tattos in general including some face tattoos.
If she's happy, great, it's definitely too extreme for me. |

I have one which is technically 2 combined as it was done in 2 parts.
I am not a fan of covering the entire body though. That is too extreme for me as is anything above the neck.
I also prefer tatts which enhance the body rather than placed randomly. |

My tattoos are mostly to cover burns and other injuries from the serious motorbike crash I had in Italy where I was also on fire.
It took a long time but most of it was covered apart from a few burn patches where the leathers melted |

I like the thought of having a tattoo and love admiring them on others…but yet to commit to getting one as once it’s on it’s pretty permanent and it’s finding something I like enough for that. Mr on the other hand has 2 so far and would love a sleeve, xT |

I’m about half way to where I want to be in regards to tattoos. Need to finish my chest, get my other arm a sleeve and then I think that’s it.
No chance would I go above the neck unless it was small behind the ear etc |

The only advice I would give to anyone getting a tattoo is to go to a good artist and get something that has meaning for you |

Mine definitely has a meaning both in its design and actually getting it in the first place. It signifies my journey which still has much more offroading to do and is also in memory of someone I lost just before my 50th birthday. |

All of mine have a meaning to me, some more obvious than others. I'm definitely getting more done but my rules is nothing I'd be embarrassed for the grandkids to see one day and only in places I can cover up for a funeral etc (so no face etc).
As for her eyeballs, I would never risk my vision for it and personally think they don't remotely suit her, think it's just an effort to get a world record or something |

I've had quite a few new ones in recent years. The highest up I've got is a tiny cross behind my left ear. I'm also getting a few little ones on my left hand next month. I'm very nervous about my next ones cos my last one a blue heart on my right inner wrist got infected and still hasn't healed properly. I was diagnosed as T2 diabetic last Jan and this is the cause. But my artist is really caring and has been looking after me well. Hence why I'm going for little ones next to see how my body reacts. I hope it's not the end of my tattoos cos I've at least another 10 I want!!! |

I think If you can tell a story behind each tattoo,
They are never gonna bore you. I suppose doing a whole bod is difficult to give meaning to every single tattoo. But hence why I prefer to have them when I am sure I can tell something about it |

Have had 2 sessions done on a full arm sleeve. The outside of the arm is done and back in January to get the next bit done. All of the sleeve will have personal meaning to me.
Not sure if I’ll get more after that but who knows. Can’t have them visible in work so will definitely be staying away from the eyeballs!!! |

I personally detest, loathe and abhor tattoes, and would NEVER have any ink injected into my skin.
Culturally, these bodily adornments have an exceptionally long history, with much cultural significance in some cultures, especially in Africa and the Pacific regions.
Here, in the UK and Ireland they used to be the exclusive preserve of prostitutes, merchant seamen and members of the armed forces.
In recent years their prevalence has increased exponentially in Europe and USA particularly but not exclusively within the so-called working classes or 'lower' strata of society.
Admittedly some are works of art, but a minority people who get them done are clearly mentally unwell.
Over many years, they smudge, leak and spread, and become dreadful looking.
This is my own personal opinion; if anyone wants to get a tattoo, good luck to them.
But I will never let a speck of tattooist's ink anywhere near my pristine skin.
Finally, having a tattoo would prejudice my ability to donate blood; I am occasionally called to donate my blood at VERY short notice, the recipient being in hospital. |

Type 2 diabetic here and had a 5 hour session last week. All has healed perfectly. Just follow the aftercare advice well and make sure your sugars are under control as it's high blood sugars that lead to wounds not healing well. |

I accept that Tattoos are very popular with a lot of people, and that in my eyes, a discreet, small tattoo is enough for anyone.
It's when some people take it to, what I'd call it, an extreme and opt for a high percentage of body cover, that I don't understand why?
To me, when I see anyone with multiple tattoos on their body, I find the images Scary, even Intimidating or Frightening.
The reality tgat these people may be the nicest ones around is immaterial & I have turned down meets in the past when faced with lots of tattoo's on view when swapping pics.
I know I may be in a minority but loads of tattoo's make me uncomfortable. |

I'm fairly covered in tattoos now and will get a lot more over time. I also work in the tattoo industry now....removing them, not applying them.
I like them on girls too but having eyeballs done is a whole other ball game. I'd class that as full on body modification and theres no way of turning that around if you regret it further down the line....at least regular tattoo's can be erased |

Secret hideaway in the pennines |
I got my first ink this year to mark the anniversary of my previous partner loosing our baby.
Its only small, but has a lot of meaning.
I would however never consider anything as extreme as having.my eyeballs done |

"I love them, the parents of one of my children own a tattoo parlour next door.
The Mum specialises in Tattoos to cover scars, she herself is covered head to toe and looks stunning
Dad specialises in Blackwork tattoos and will create these freehand bespoke for each individual. He did one for Joe Hart the footballer.
I have one tattoo on my back but would love more
I love seeing the ladies who get them done after the likes of a mastectomy."
Yep, I love scrolling through her insta page and seeing her art |

"God no!!!
I’m also diabetic as long as you look after it you should be ok x"
Thank you. X |

Type 2 diabetic here and had a 5 hour session last week. All has healed perfectly. Just follow the aftercare advice well and make sure your sugars are under control as it's high blood sugars that lead to wounds not healing well.
I’m a type 1 diabetic, I have 4 tattoos and all have healed perfectly well as above make sure you have your sugar levels under control and all should be fine x"
Thank you both. Yes I had the heart done a month or so after my T2 diagnosis. Also all my other tatts I've dry healed and never had a problem. Cos of my T2 I decided to use bepanthm on it and I over killed it!!! I know now and that's the important thing. I'll go back to dry healing and hopefully all will be good with my next ones. Xx |

I don't mind tattoos or piercings, but I generally say that the reason why I haven't got any is because, I've got all the Pricks I can deal during normal office hours, without decorating myself with them.
On a more serious note though, the real reason why I haven't got any is because both my grandfathers had them, and as their skin altered they became an indistinguishable mess. A guy who used to work for me had his done in Hong Kong during his national service. His too had become indistinguishable, and he had to trace the outline showing me what they represented.
Lately I've seen advertising banners offering affordable tatoo removal, which begs the question that if there is now a growth industry in tatoo removal through a large number of people having a change of heart, was it such a bright idea to follow a fashion statement in the first place that was going to leave a permanent imprint so to speak? |

I don't know why they don't buy cosmetic contact lenses.
Many companies do them and loads of styles.
Can get full eye ones if that's what you want. Must be safer than tattooing them |

"I don't have any and don't think I'll get any either but if people are happy getting tattoos them good for them!
However, with Amber Luke you have to wonder where the like for tattoos end and the possible mental illness begins...
Especially with all the other body modification she has had."
Amber openly admits this all began due to her struggle with depression; tattoos and body modification is to Amber as to what mindfulness would be to someone else.
Planning her modifications gives her a reason to get up everyday and want to live; she loves looking at herself and the changes and has turned a negative into a positive.
The eyeballs is extreme and painful but that is now the path she has chosen and happy to do so. I admire her for taking control in her own way and making it work for her.
I have a few tattoos but wouldn't get my eyeballs done as that is a commitment to a look I wouldn't want forever. I like to keep my options open Elle x |
