Ok so I'm a big girl and I never wear dresses unless about the house. I'm going to the bar tonight and I want to wear a nice maxi dress,I'm very self conscious. What's everyone's opinions on big girls wearing dresses. |

I don’t think you should concern yourself with the opinions of others, if you want to wear a maxi dress out, then wear a maxi dress out, I think the self conscious feeling will fade and you will feel liberated and wished you had done it sooner.  |

Maxi dresses are ideal for bigger girls
The hide bits that you may have personal issues with
They accentuate the waist line giving a nice hourglass figure
They are cool and comfortable and spot on fashion now
They make a woman look so femme and chic

I'm a slim girl and I like wearing dresses. I would never look at a big girl wearing a dress and think anything other than I like the dress. Most people are usually too busy worrying about how they look themselves to care about what others look like.

I almost only wear dresses. I have a cracking pair of legs (not currently with pregnancy) so happy to show them off and I feel dresses suit my shape better than jeans etc |

Wear what you like. I've seen plenty of people of all sizes in dresses that look vile and nobody bats an eyelid. If you like your dress, just wear it. You probably looked great in it. I’ve recently started wearing a lot more dresses and I always get compliments from friends when I do. I hate my legs which is why I’ve always stayed away from them but I’m finding I care less as I get older. I just purchased some short shorts which I never though I’d wear in public but this week I have! If people don’t like my thunder thighs and cellulite then then don’t have to look

I spent all of my 20s hiding in leggings and oversized tops. It’s only in recent years I’ve learnt to embrace my figure a little more (I’m a size 18 and short) and actually wear what I want, including dresses. Just wear it, you won’t regret it, I promise. |
