Ten years today we lost beautiful, bold Amy Winehouse. Gone way, way too soon.
For me she's one of the modern greats, a unique singer and brilliant, brutally honest lyricist and songwriter.
Any memories of Amy live or any favourite songs ? |

"Know it's a cover, but I constantly listen to "our day will come"
https://youtu.be/CxYRbzGi8Rg"
I love her cover of The Zuton's Valerie- she completely made the song her own. |

"Such a loss. I’m still not over it. Love the jazz, October song , love is blind, the acoustic version at the end of this interview is a great one
https://youtu.be/qFcG0pBhKPA"
She had an amazing old school jazz sensibility and feel in her vocals. Quite unique for such a young person. |

From what I've seen and read her troubles were rooted in family issues, but becoming a big star so young and so quickly didn't help her cope, for sure. |

Yes, Frank rather overshadowed by Back to Black but a great album. I love Stronger Than Me. |

I suspect like a lot of public performers she was quite shy in private. Maybe where the drink came in ? |

"Go on YouTube and watch the interview with Jonathan Ross when she was 20. Heartbreaking. She was so beautiful and full of passion for her music. So sad how her life turned out."
Thank you Bluebell. She looks so happy and healthy in that clip. |

"I wish she had never met Blake.
My two favs -Valerie and hey little rich girl.
Apparently there's something spooky about famous stars dying at 27 "
She was doing drugs and drinking before she met him. |

The Guardian recently voted ‘Love is a losing game’ as it’s number one of her back catalogue. It’s certainly my favourite of an artist I’ve never warmed to.
Very talented as a writer and singer. RIP |

I loved her, her music, her character and her voice was incredible...
Such a loss to the industry. I wish that these amazing people could see themselves through the eyes of others
Actually I wish we could all do that at times |

Unfortunately she came into her own and hit the big time just as her life started spiral out of control. I wonder what she would of become 10 years later ….
Blake Fielder -Civil has a lot to answer for…..
Beautiful voice who’s potential was tragically cut short |

I wish I'd gotten to see her. The minute I hear her minute I became a fan, I really rated her.
It was so very sad to watch some of her TV performances when she was struggling so.
An amazing talent and an awful way for her journey to end! |

She was one of those artists wasn't she? Her huge talent and charisma struck you immediately, which made her later struggles even harder to take. |

Yes, the film Amy shows that coincidence of huge public fame with private breakdown, although I believe she had gotten over her worst drug issues when she passed.
I'm sure she would have continued to grow and dazzle as an artist given more time. |

Brilliant singer , what a voice , always visit Amy’s statue in Camden Town when I’m in London , imagine what brilliant songs she would of made if addiction didn’t take her away , my favourites are
Half time and in my bed
But she has left so many classics that will live forever |

Yes, it’s unfair to blame Blake. In the film Amy she clearly doesn’t want the pressure and constant media attention thats slowly killing her, and retreats to Jamaica but even there her management insist she does interviews. That’s what killed her, she just wanted to make music and be left alone. Look at the kind of bullshit she had to put up with and how uncomfortable it made her with because her management saw the potential ££££

I met Amy in 2003. I was working as a Technician at The Midland Art Centre, Edgbaston, Birmingham where she did a show. She was warm, bright and funny. A joyous and talented soul gone far too soon. |

Met Amy a couple of times in the Hawley Arms Camden.
She was lovely, funny and i remember complimented me on the shoes I was wearing.
She had problems, we all do and we deal with them in different ways. Unfortunately the help she needed wasn't as available as it would be now and she was used as a cash cow by the many because of her incredible talent.

Lucky you to meet her ! And I agree, she was used by those who should have protected her. |
