Haven't read anything since the Dark Tower series when he decided to have a dig at his critics and added himself as a character and ruined the ending by going on a rant.
The stand and Salem's lot are the only ones I've ever gone back to |

Goodness, that’s tricky and I chop and change. I think the best is probably It but in terms of others I’ve really enjoyed - Salem’s Lot, Pet Sematary, The Outsider, The Stand and 22.11.63. Oh, and any books with Holly Gibney in too! Mr.
And The Regulators. |

I'll give a shout out to one of his later ones- Mr. Mercedes. Seemed a bit of a curve ball for him to suddenly do a grounded bit of crime fiction; but he knocked it out of the park. And it still manages to be terrifying. |

Carrie, was the first book I bought and read from cover to cover in one sitting. So that has to be my favourite and then The Stand, but I find all of his recent stuff not that interesting or keeps my interest.
I also liked the Shining as it was different to the film but didn’t think that much or Dr Sleep. |

On a side note,
There was a list i read of film adaptations, made from his own books, that Stephen King actually liked.
-It was a very short list.
Ones that were on there tended to be dramas, like the shawshank redemption, stand by me, more than his horror stories. |

Yes. All the good films come from his novella collections (Green Mile excepted) and Four Past Midnight / Different Seasons are my fave books of his (Green Mile excepted).
Did I mention I like The Green Mile? Did anyone else read it in serialised form, a chapter a month for 6 months eagerly awaiting the next episode like a Dickens fan in the 19th century? |
