Curvy is a shape, not a size. It means that someone has curves, and used to be used for hourglass type shaped ladies of any size.
But these days,and especially on fab (in my view) itbis used to define a huge range of shapes and sizes and as such doesn't really mean anything any more.

Curvy can be a size 4 or a size 34 it’s a shape.
Some bigger girls have a boxy figure and not curves. The same with some slimmer girls.
I’ve always described myself as plus size and curvy as before pregnancy my waist was around 12 inches less than my hips.
I’m guessing this post has been done to cause shit though but OP it doesn’t take much brains to know the difference between a curvy and a straight road…. Apply the same to bodies and ta da there is your answer |

OP, I would suggest looking at Belle, Frida or Sparkles pics. They personify curvy to me - boobs, hips & a defined, smaller waist. Bloody beautiful, the lot of them.
I no longer have the defined waist (age, menopause!) So I describe myself as ample rather than curvy.

What I am saying: If you come from a small family (small-framed) you would be more likely to use "curvy" and other words for somebody bigger than yourself and vice versa? |

Curvy is however you portray it? For some curvy means not skinny, for others curvy could mean beautifully rounded edges in certain places. Curvy could also be not straight? Everyone uses the same word for different meanings but as long as we all appreciate it then it should be good for everyone …. Or something like that |

It's very subjective. Personally, I think it is a typical hourglass figure, but different people will think it's different things. I tend to just look at pictures to decide if I find people attractive or not. |

As others have said it's a body type rather than a size thing.
36-24-36 are the Marilyn Monroe pin up proportions. They're unrealistic for most women. But it's having a small waist relative to your arse, tits, or both that counts.
So a 34-24-35 petite girl can be curvy, and so can a 48-36-50 larger girl. Xx |

Saggy boobs .
Mum tum or just a tummy
Large thighs.
Ample behind
Size 12,14,16 18 etc.
What some say is curvy may not be in others eyes.

See these threads always tend to make me think I'm the size of a whale or something. And that I'm hiding behind curvy instead of calling myself fat. It's why I chose to put ample instead of curvy on our profile.
Yes I'm fat and overweight, but suggesting that I can't also be curvy does impact on me. Sometimes it's hard to find body confidence and you look at your stomach and think bad things about yourself. But you look at your boobs or bum and think actually they're not bad. And that helps your confidence and how you see yourself in the world. Curvy is a word does it matter to anyone except to the individual using it? Does it impact anyone else's life? No so why does it bother others so much? Why strip confidence from those who need a little boost now and again? |

I don't put curvy because it's misconstrued...But yes I would be a classic meaning of the Original Term `curvy`... The term `curvy` has changed...I've always categorised my profile on here as average |

Yes I'm fat and overweight, but suggesting that I can't also be curvy does impact on me. Sometimes it's hard to find body confidence and you look at your stomach and think bad things about yourself. But you look at your boobs or bum and think actually they're not bad. And that helps your confidence and how you see yourself in the world. And you're right, it doesn't matter to anyone but the individual using the term. I chose ample for the same reason you did, although if fat wasn't given all the negative press and was an option I'd have gone with that.
I personally think curvy describes your body far better than ample, but it's of course your decision  |

No it doesn't. Fuck it and fuck 'em. It's such a subjective term anyway, you're never going to please everyone with how you describe yourself - look at the myriad of responses from people on here as to what curvy is.

I get told I shouldn't put curvy for my body type, when I'd say I definitely have a curvy shape and it's the most accurate category for me!
