My last job I got all the snacks, fruit, nuts and seeds I could ever eat. Loads of posh teas and occasional bottles of booze or promotional gift boxes from suppliers and customers.

So far in my new job it's very different, but there are loads of very corporate wellbeing and health perks from walking meditation and yoga classes through to massage and heavily discounted spa breaks.

Not the same as a box of flapjacks and a case of wine though!

best perk i ever had was..

Used to run a FW07 Williams historic f1 car for a swiss bloke, btw the first F1 car Senna ever drove, anyway the guy had it for sale, another guy wanted it but wanted it now, my customer wanted to do the last race of the season in it, it was used in a historic f1 championship, but he plomised the guy he could have it two week later after a reprep, so of we went to i think monza for the race, and yes guess what he shunted it badly. so we had a very bent car and two weeks to make it good, no factory back up and every part has to be hand made, you cant just go to halfords for parts, i only had one apprentice working ith me.

anyway we got it rebuilt, working 24.7 and thats no joke, i fell asleep while working on it many times. so we went with my driver to donny to shake it down make sure all was good, he did a few laps and pitted, he then said ,i apreciate all your hard work over the last few days, so to thank you do you want a few laps, did i

amazing experiance, and no i didnt shunt it lol

I used to work in a bank's IT department. You got a lot of perks, provided you pay for it, although you had a reduced rate.

I think health an dental insurance was the best deal, gym membership was a rip-off

The best free thing before covid was the monthly evening meeting with pizza and a very limited amount of beer or wine. But you had to suffer a pep speech of one of the directors for that

They scrapped the final salary pension for an average salary scheme a few years ago, but I don't class the pension as a perk... you have to pay for it you know, and no I don't get the holidays. Realistically though for most teachers, there is much work to be done within the holiday time, it's certainly not all it's cracked up to be.

I work Mon to Fri 9 til 5

Jobs that offer that in this 24/7 economy are harder and harder to come by, so I am thankful for that

I get paid well for what I do, the salary in many places would equate to that of a junior manager for what is, effectively, an admin role

After 20+ year in Senior Management roles of which 16 involved being 'on call', I am glad of the career change

It's nice after all those years to take my foot off the pedal work wise

My old neighbour was a teacher and he got a similar amount of annual leave to me, about 6 weeks. Plus his was virtually dictated to him where I get to choose mine, staffing allowing. Not sure where you get 13 weeks from.

If they think teachers get all the same holidays as the kids they're deluded. My comment wasn't even anything to do with the summer holiday as they don't get all of that off. He took the majority of his annual leave then but that's because they don't get a choice. The 6 weeks also includes any time they take off in the other holidays like Christmas.
