I suppose we better start one…

GB women’s football team good start in their tournament.. beat chile 2-0 in their opening match

First show… World Cup and Olympic champions USA lose their first game 3-0 to Sweden

Anyway… I normally pick a sport I don’t know and see it thru.. you get to see some really good stuff

For non pervy reasons btw.

I absolutely love the gymnastics.

Men's and women's.

I find it totally amazing the sheer perfection that they strive for and the control of the human body.

The strength of the men is just awesome.

But I love pretty much all of the Olympic events.

With the exception of tennis and football.

Also I find the sprint kayak race's and canoeing brilliant.

Good for you Op!

Been watching this afternoon. It will be interesting to see what all round coverage they will show. Normally you can catch up on BBC I player.

I like archery - I've done a bit. had a lot of fun using a long bow! Hope there will be lots of that to watch?

I heard Discovery+ were covering it - I don't think I have it.

There's an 8 hr difference between Japan & us... so if it's going to be hard to sleep cos of the weather at least there should be some good stuff to watch!

I do like watching track stuff - 100m; 200m; 400m; long distance (men's or women's.) Will we get to see new medal winners? I'm interested to see who will pick up the men's 100m....

Then there's field stuff like Javelin; Pole vault; Shot put.

I heard that skate boarding is on there! Is that true?????

Yes, skateboarding is there. We have an outstanding young lady called Sky Brown competing. She is only 13, but wait till you see what she's capable of! It's a tough sport - a lot of core strength needed to pull the tricks they perform.

Many athletes are not Lotto funded, nor from wealthy families

If you don't want to watch it, that's great (nor does Mr KC because he's not a sport's fan) but even non sporty people should be able to appreciate the hard work and sacrifice that goes into qualifying for the Olympics.

It’s a proper long hard course… think of it at 260km semi hilly classic type course… I think you are looking at one of van aert, alaphilippe, or van der pol…but I would not rule out any of the Slovenians for example

Be interesting to see how the countries play it with the smaller teams and no radio mics…

"Ohhh my goodness, the ladies road race was blown apart by a virtual underdog !! Went in the breakaway, pulled away at 40k to go, all alone and rode like a woman possessed!! Chapeau Kiesenhofer you rode a blinder "

I watched that.. I think the problem was the Dutch were took big name loaded.. so everyone left it to them…. But fair play to the Austrian lass going in the breakaway from kilometre 1

"Watched a bit of dressage, for some one that has never had any thing to do with horses, know nothing about them or have any interest in them at all it was brilliant must be such a hard discipline because every other sport you rely on your self to compete in that if the horse decides to be a knob your going to come last, "

Yep, and you can't make an animal weighing the best part of a tonne do what it doesn't want to do! To do dressage like that, the rider needs phenomenal core strength and a bum and thighs of steel too. All the horse riding events require riders (and horses) to be super fit, but a lot of people seem to think the rider just sits there......

I'm watching swimming replays and was so chuffed to see the Tunisian guy win the men's 400m medley. Almost till the end, the commentators ignored this underdog, swimming in lane 8 and were focused on the European and Australian swimmers (one of whom came rank last). Really good to see someone outside of the usual suspects taking a gold medal.

The hockey has been epic too, and the diving, tbh I really enjoy seeing sports that aren’t usually shown much on the telly

We need to get as many early medals as we can because there will be few medals coming our way in track and field

I’m pissed off with the coverage. The rights sale has left the majority of us without wall to wall coverage and a lot of minor events aren’t getting shown

You can see it if you have sky, virgin or bt

Eurosport have 6 overflow channels that you can see most of the other live sport going on… plus bbc have a red button overflow as well…

So Eurosport are on sky 410 and 411… and the overflows are 983 thru to 989… bbc red button overflow is on 982
