Ive just been given a great big marrow this morning and im going to make stuffed marrow for dinner and will have it again tomorrow.
This time of year i never really buy veg as someone is always giving you things, i will have runner and broad beans next week no doubt and ive had rhubard. Do you still get given stuff out of peoples allotments or is it a country thing.

I've got 2 apple trees in the garden, but without a single fruit on either of them!  And that's with a dozen bee hives only a few feet away!
This was the year I was goinig to make some homemade scrumpy too! |

We get things left on our doorsteps or someone will put a big box of apples out and a sign saying help yourself. There used to be an old man that made jam for charity and there was always lots of jam jars under the tree near where he lived people just left for him. I leave a big container of sweets outside the door at halloween and i know the kids take some as its usually half empty but they dont just pocket the lot bless them |
