Secret hideaway in the pennines

So after spending Saturday with my my and her disapproving comments about my facial hair, saying it makes me look old and scruffy, what would your mum disapprove of about you.

Oh and does it make me look old and scruffy?

The beard looks good OP, definitely one vote to keep it from me

Leeds + Newcastle

She's not a fan of my tattoos, piercings and red hair but she does concede she's a different generation.

I'm a mum.... She should love you however you choose to be. Its your choice.

I think her wording could have been better. She she could have just said she prefers you clean shaven. I'm sure she meant well though.

Don't forget, it's not her you're doing for.

Don't worry about what others think.

Mine hates that I have tattoos and would definitely raise an eyebrow at the fun I have through here

My mum hates the fact I've had breast enlargement. She even called me barbie instead of the name she gave me a few times in a nasty way.

Disappointing a parent can't be an adult but it is what is. And I don't regret my choice at all.

She’d absolutely hate that I’m bisexual.

?

My parents just roll their eyes or take the piss out of me...like my dad last weekend saying my stripey dress looked like a deckchair They realised many years ago that if they disapprove of something then I'll just do it all the more.

Somewhere near here

Everything because I’m not a stay at home mum and waiting on a husband for his every need and instead went out and got myself 2 degrees, a career and can still raise my children perfectly well

I completely agree, my mum isnt the best with words either so when I had my daughters I vowed to let them be them. I give them advice but I'd never tell that what to do and I make sure they know that they are loved. Xxxx

Manchester (she/her)

It used to be that I couldn't do anything right, according to my mum.

Things have changed. She still hates my style, but our values are aligned now and it's so validating.

And she's in Australia so she can keep her hair brush to herself

She doesn't really disapprove of anything I do. She doesn't always understand and will say that and that's fine but as long as I'm safe and happy, she's cool.

My mum disapproves of so much about me

She’s a good Traditional Norwegian family woman.

My dads ex army and she met him and fell in love.

My dad was a great bloke but more homely than me. He died not long after I got to battalion and in NI.

When I left the army I think she’d assume I’d settle down. But no 4 month later I was a PMC

And my life’s pretty full on.

She doesn’t approve of my choices at all

And OP keep the facial hair
