Why is this so hard for guys to get?
I don't even face time my own family.
I don't really enjoy phone calls in general with people yet guys seem to get real pussy when I say no to their random video calls.
Was having a nice relaxing day on the sunshine and now I'm fucked off and hot and bothered.
People (not just guys, I know) when someone says they dont like something or that something gives them anxiety..... Don't fucking try to make them do it anyway!  |

I don't like normal phone calls. My attention wanders and I get bored in about three minutes. Video chats are OK cos at least you can still read people's nonverbal communication. But nothing beats face to face in meatspace.

I think it stems from too much msn messenger camming in my youth lol
And my mouth not being able to say no as easily as my fingers can!
Just pisses me off when people try to manipulate yoh about it. One guy (not on here) told me my feelings of anxiety were bs yet when he said he couldn't meet in the pub we arranged to meet in as it was too busy and he had anxiety I'm ecorctex to just roll with it. |

To be fair I despise this video chat age and still don’t do zoom/FaceTime etc I find it awkward and strange. Maybe my job doesn’t involve using these but even so I find it hard to be natural and myself looking at a screen. Everyone is different I guess but that’s my feelings on that so feel you OP(not literally)  |

I fucking hate it! I've been with my partner 13 years and even avoid them with him. My anxiety and body dymorphia make it a very difficult task. I hate phonecalls too.  |

No no no no no, particularly whennots done and I dont know its coming, it's like an invasion of privacy.
A phone call is one thing and that's fine but I don't want to answer the phone and have you see me or me see you without expecting it (and if I expect it I'm going to say no you fucking don't!! ) |

I can’t say i’m keen on them i much prefer phone calls and even then prefer voice notes or texts.
When its initally to prove a person is genuine i dont mind but when you just want a peaceful life and someone wants to cam chat all the time i get aggy. |

With you there hun - I’m not a fan of video calls myself and generally decline them.
I’m happy to have audio phone conversations though - though my phone is old and the sound is terrible - needs replacing when I can afford it! |

I don't like video calls either. And rarely ever do them and I won't do them with anyone from here especially with someone I've never met if that's the reason they won't believe I'm genuine then they can move on. I don't need to prove to anyone that I am by doing something I'm uncomfortable with. |

Depends, don't like phone or video calls when not planned or from family. If it to prove we or they are genuine then find as it really should be only a minute or two after which we can return to planning via messages. |

It's great to find out that I'm not alone in how I feel about this.
I don't even video call family or friends because it gives me huge irrational anxiety and I ramble on at a million miles an hour, then can't remember the conversation which isnt good.
I'm not as bad with phone calls, it depends who I'm talking to though.
If people push me to do something when I've said no I just take that as them not respecting my boundaries and drop them like a hot coal. |

I love calls with people I know. I can chat shit for hours at a time. I look like jabba the hutt's hairier sister on the front facing camera, but if it's someone who already knows me not the tiniest of tiny shiny shites is given.
With someone I don't know or haven't met they're bloody awful, horrible things, awkward as fuck and lacking any real chemistry. Face timing someone I haven't met in person will make me absolutely convinced I never want to meet them because it's just all so stilted in a way meeting up in real life very rarely is. |

My friend video calls me on WhatsApp... I'm usually in the middle of cooking.. I always think it's only going to be a 10 mins call, but then it goes on for an hour or so.. . And so i have to suspend chopping or whatever process I'm doing to do the stupid call

Hate phone calls because they give me anxiety. Never do video calls because they trigger my psychosis.
If people don't get that, or think I'm a fake or whatever... fuck them, I don't care. |

It's a red flag because I want people to be natural with me. If I was getting to know someone I'd want to be able to phone or video call them randomly the same as I do with my friends and I'd like someone to feel comfortable with me enough that they would phone or video call them to see what I was up to or just a general chat for 5. If I don't have that natural flow I don't want a relationship with that person

Ugh this is one of my biggest hates!
I forever get the 'Wanna Cam?' messages, even though it explicitly states I hate it in my profile.
Just yesterday, a guy (I was planning on meeting in a couple of weeks) said did I fancy a 'video chat'... basically he wanted to wank for me... I said I couldn't think of anything more boring, and I'd rather chew my toenails. Next message within 10 seconds was, sorry can't meet *insert dodgy excuse*
I hate talking on the phone altogether. Not only do I get tongue tied, but also distracted by the tiniest things, and also hate when others try to earwig into conversations.
I don't even call my best friends, we just WhatsApp each other every day! |

I have a hatred for video calls/cams and not just on fab,with friends and family too. More than happy to chat on phone or meet but just hate video calls! Would rather call than text aswell, texting bores me and usually my humour doesn't come across well on text! I really should use more emojis so people know im being humorous!  |
