Are you one of those people who stick to one type of genre, or more eclectic.
My first love has always been rock music, but being brought up in the 60's and 70's I was exposed to all types.
I have sung quite a few different styles in that time as well, from the rat pack swing to Robbie Williams. |

As I've gotten older, I've acquired quite an eclectic taste. I could go from Classic , to Rock, to trance , to Country all in one day.
I don't like minor key, depressing genres/songs though. It needs to be uplifting. |

Love all genres from all eras
Was raised on 60's music such as Buddy Holly and Ricky Valens
My car stereo has it all from Johnny Cash to Camelphat interspersed with Megan Trainor, Taylor Swift, Ultravox, Years and Years, the 1974, Calvin Harris, Ed Sheeran and lots of other random stuff
Elderbrook is playing in the car at the moment though

I'm more eclectic these days.
It was rock music that got me into music in my teens, then when i started learning instruments myself i got into jazz & fusion.
These days I like a lot of world music & i find there's several artists i really like that make stunning music using computer software rather than traditional instruments. |

All over, music is good!!! The only music I can’t seem to engage with is metal/heavy metal and some of the more extreme rave music (because I find it to be more noise than music) |

My core is '80s hair metal and '90s indie/alt. Nowadays I'll do bebop, minimalist classical, country (more alt and bluegrass), flirt a bit with ambient electronic and post-rock, blues. If I like the sound of it I'll listen to it. |

I’m a lyrics person, if someone writes something that really gets to my emotional core, then the music style doesn’t really matter.
Due to that most of my regular playlist has all sorts of artists, even in a foreign language like Zucchero that I’ve later translated the words.
That’s why I’ll listen to Bacharach to Black Sabbath (think Changes, as a great song) if I need deeper meanings in my songs I’ll listen to Nick Cave or if I need cheering up ‘raindrops keep falling on my head’ will generally break the bad or mournful mood. |

I like all sorts of music from classical and country to rock and pop.
Though I particularly love 80s rock and anything lighthearted and upbeat I can dance to. I'm not at all embarrassed about my music tastes and never have been. One of my favourite songs is by Neil Diamond, I think he has a lovely vouce.
The only genres I am not really a fan of are heavy rock/metal and drum and bass dance type stuff. |

I'm pretty much a traditionalist who thinks the 60s and 70s will never be surpassed, but am not closed off to more recent stuff if it's genuinely good and innovative (e.g. Mogwai).
Cannot get my head around any form of rap, hiphop or urban genres though. It all just sounds like an angry bloke (or bird) shouting over a beatbox and a load of samples. Love OG soul/RnB though, the stuff they're all sampling. |

"One of my favourite songs is by Neil Diamond, I think he has a lovely voice."
I can't stand his voice but can't deny his songwriting. I mean Solitary Man, with its edge of misogyny, is still an utterly brilliant song (and has spawned a universe of great cover versions - Chris Isaak, HIM, Sidewinders etc). |

My taste in music is so varied. I've always got SmoothFM on though. I'd say my most listened to music is probably 80s stuff. I'm not sure what my fave genre would be. My favourite playlist genuinely has hundreds of songs that are so different to one another. |

Some great triphop mixes to be found on youtube; have got me through many a mindnumbing workday.
As for my own tastes, can and do pretty much listen to anything. |

There and to the left a bit |
Oh blimey I have everything in my music collection from Glenn Miller to Muse, Sinatra to the Sex Pistols, Bach to Biffy and all sorts in between.
My first musical love was Two Tone/Mod with a bit of punk/new wave thrown in in the late 70s/early 80s and that is still at the core of my listening pleasure but it led me looking backwards to 60s/Tamla/Northern Soul and old school ska/reggae and moving forward opened my ears to Oasis/Blur/Britpop and more and that in turn influenced me to broaded my tastes further to the point I'm at now which takes in so much |

Jazz. The word was slang for "fuck", and some of it (but not all of it) can get you in the mood very quickly. It's worth exploring, especially the 1950s and 60s. "West Coast" / "Cool School", etc.
Then Classical. e.g. Fred Delius. He was all about sex... |

I love heavy metal, bands like Metallica, Rammstein, Nuclear Assault, etc.
I have found myself listening more to classical music recently, but I do throw in some Jean Michelle Jarre, Blue Man group just to mix it up a bit. |

Mostly punk and metal for me..but a few other styles here and there..... I'm a lot more open minded these days to stuff... though I still think daytime radio is full of shite and refuse to listen to it.. saying that I don't really listen to nightime radio much anymore..too much of my own stuff to listen to... |

I have a very wide taste in music and have seen live everyone from Taylor Swift and The Sugar Babes through to Iron Maiden and Still Little Fingers. What I can't stand is the current rap music (is it called that now?) which all sound the same and the videos are all the same! |

I like to think I have a wide and varied taste in music, soul, esp northern, ska, punk, post punk, hip hop, reggae, folk, rock’n’roll and various points in between. I love a live gig even just watching a pub band on a Friday night. |

I am a big fan of music in general and although I don't like everything, I can appreciate quality and proficiency in most styles of music.
I am especially a big fan of most rock and blues genres, but I'm also a sucker for a great sing-a-long pop song too.
