Have you ever managed that. I have tried and failed"
I've done this, it grew to about 9icnhes then I put it in soil. Just didn't look after it, it's actually very easy |

I'll give it another go. I remember them going all veiny and see through almost in sunlight. Looked like eggs, maybe I got scared and thought I was incubating something else |

Get it out with a spoon cut it in slices, put a bit of salt and lemon juice and that’s it
Or sometimes instead of lemon juice I put balsamic vinegar glaze and salt. Delish. |

Mine didn't go veiny, stayed how it started just split into two. I also got it to look like a small bonsai so it looked nice. It's started life in a glass teapot aswell so u could see all the roots. Nice decoration |

Breakfast for 2...
Ripen, remove skin, slice in two, carefully removing the stone. Scoop out another dessert spoon full of flesh until theres a well in each half.
Crack an egg in each half and place on a baking tray.
Add 4 rashers of streaky bacon to the tray and a bunch of on-vine cherry tomatoes. Drizzle a little balsalmic on tomatoes.
Bake the lot in a hot oven for about 10- 15 mins until eggs are cooked but soft centred, and bacon is crispy.
Butter some wholegrain toast and place avocado on top, bacon on the side and baked toms.
Season to taste with freshly ground black pepper and enjoy with a big mug of strong tea! |

Top tip to remove the stone.
Slice avo in half. Now put your fingers either side of the stone and gently push from the back with your thumb.. The stone will pop out! No knife needed
Here all week folks |

I favour the slice in half leaving the stone intact, then chop into the stone with a heavier blade, twist and it will pop out. I may struggle to grow a tree from that one though.....

I tried it for the first time today and I didn't like it but I am willing to give it a try again...just not eating it with nothing else or nothing done to it again.

Most of the fruit and veg we get from Spain is grown in very environmentally negative conditions under plastic around Almeria. The workers are badly exploited there as well. Sorry |

I cannot see why everyone raves about this horrible food.
It tastes so bland, of nothing and though it is supposed to have health benefits, I can't see how it can be improved to be eaten?
Each to people's choice but not for me! |

You have to dry the stone for a day or two and then put it in a container with a little water and blotting paper - keep it damp until roots grow from it and then you can plant it in some earth. Very boring looking plant though |

Lol why can’t people spell it?
I’ve seen avacado, advacado, advocado....
It’s avocado.
Unfortunately yes, there are cartel wars in Mexico over avocado growing territories.
I love them but honestly cba waiting for them to ripen and then I look away and they’ve gone off. I normally have them in guacamole.
Which by the way, is chopped, not mashed avocado, chopped tomato, bit of chopped onion, chopped coriander, juice of 1 lime, salt and a chopped serrano/jalapeño pepper. Nothing more.
*Kind regards from the resident Mexican* |

The correct spelling of advacado is duly noted |

On toast with poached egg,
Mashed on top of chilli,
In a salad,
In a sandwich.
Or I blend it with spinach and fruit/veg in a smoothy.
Do I identify as millennial? |
