What is it about men singing love songs that hits a nerve with me. The more tortured they sound the more I love them. For example "nights in white satin" moody blues

"The killing moon" Echo and the bunnymen "its not over yet" the klaxons. Damn I wish I could inspire that kind of passion. Feel free to share your own sinfully delicious tracks.

Liverpool

Bob Dylan's entire back catalogue is replete with tortured love songs. Some notable examples:

Visions of Johanna

Make you feel my love

Lay Lady Lay

I want you

A simple twist of fate

When the deal goes down

There are so many. From the wistfully perfect pop of God Only Knows by The Beach Boys to the thoughtful piano melancholy of Nick Cave's Into My Arms via the head rush of Such Great Heights by The Postal Service. Which, incidentally, might have the best opening lyrics of any love song ever:

I'm

Thinking it's a sign

That the freckles in our eyes

Are mirror images

And when we kiss

They're perfectly aligned.

I'll hit post and think of 5 more that are probably better examples, but that's music right?
