I can understand a woman wanting someone taller (maybe a security feeling)
I prefer shorter women for that reason, I like to feel like the protector, as a man should do I feel. That's just me |

I must admit that being 6'1" tall does come in very handy when a woman likes to turn up on a date in her 4" heels, and not need to be carrying a milk crate with her for me to stand on to kiss her. XXX |

I’m 5’5” and a half/5.6” and I certainly wouldn’t go for a guy shorter than me. Ideally I like my guys to be 6’1” and up but you know… it’s just me being a picky bitch |

Ideally a woman 5’ 7” or shorter is what I like. I find that height becomes an issue for women moreso than me when we’re the same height or the woman is taller.
If there’s an attraction there then height doesn’t bother me at all. |

I totally understand that feeling of being a protector - I wouldn't say its how a man "should feel" though. A man is entitled to feel anyway he wants, demanding certain feelings/behavoirs based on a person's biological sex isn't helpful.
Op, there is a general preference for taller men but I've found shorter guys seem to find other ways of making themselves stand out - a fantastic physique or bubbly engaging personality and often bags of self confidence. Also, there are shorter ladies too, my ex wife was only 4'10", quite possible for you to find a lady who likes a taller man and still fit that criteria.

It is about attraction, isn't it? And for some people, possibly women more so than men, height is part of the attraction.
In the same way as for some people hair colour/ length, body shape etc are part of the attraction. It is not something we choose. |

I am 5ft 10 so i definitely feel happier with men my own height and taller. I have met and had sex with folks shorter than myself. When it comes to single men though height is one of the first things I look at. |

Being 5'8 I am overlooked quiet a bit even from 5ft women as they want a guy that towers over them for whatever reason. Get a step ladder to kiss him then haha.
End of the day I couldn't care less now. It used to bother me but then I realized that I can't change anything about myself height wise so why stress about it. Thats just what happens when your mum is 5ft and your dad was 6'3 haha. Yes I'm gonna be over looked by a lot of women but they're not worth my time to think about so who cares. If they can't see me for me and not my height then that's on them. Yes that is there preference and that is fine and I accept that. Don't shoot me in the foot. Don't need to be any shorter now |

The 'problem' with sites like this is that they allow us to tick boxes
We make so much judgement based on stats presented and a selection of 2D images on a phone screen
It really isn't real life, for me at least

My preference is tall guys,5'10" + even though I'm barely 5'4".
Recently, I've met a lovely chap who is 5'8 & that's rather pleasant - less cricks in the neck!
But I'm sorry, OP. I won't meet anyone shorter than 5'6". It just makes me feel weird when I'm taller than them in heels. |

wow.. as much as i knew this was a preference for women.
I didn't realise it was this prevalent.
I know there are ladies that are shorter than me, that would like my height etc. Thats not the issue (non of this is actually)
I was just wondering, at least at the start of this, what sorta ratio i was looking at when it comes to height, that was unbothered to it's a pretty important preference.
It's not to say anyone is shallow, sorry if it sounded that way, was not my intention.
I get everyone has a preference, I know I have preferences. It was more of an educational question, and a laugh at my misfortune.. LOL |

At 6ft 2 most women are shorter than me so I don't really have a preference one way or the other.
The shortest woman I've been out with was about a 5ft 2 and the tallest about 5ft 6. |
