"Im pretty good at cooking.
But baking is another story, my hands are too hot! "
I can’t bake at all. I can just about manage those peppa pig packets you get from Tesco’s when you only have to add an egg! |

I can cook a mean loaf, but only with white flour. As soon as I use wholemeal it turns into a brick.
I'm good with anything pastry based, from pies to Danish to choux buns. I can't often be arsed these days though. |

I’m very good ar American pancakes. They’re very fluffy.
The secret is good self raising flour or baking powder in plain flour. Do not beat it. Just stir in the ingredients. Hot, well buttered pan, even if it’s non-stick. Try it OP. |

orkshire puddings. Foolproof . no weighing
1. Light the oven hottest it will go.
2. Put dripping or lard or vegetable oil into each dish on a yorkshire pudding pan.
3. Take out three GLASSES from the cupboard and put them on the kitchen top making sure you can see clearly through them.
4. Take out of the cupboard eggs, plain flour, milk , salt
5. Put the roasting / pudding pan in the oven.
( The oven the pan the fat MUST be HOT as you can get them )
FIRST: Crack egg or eggs into one glass.
SECOND: Put flour into second glass until it comes to the height of the egg. Make sure to tap and level.
THIRD: Pour milk into third glass to the same level as the eggs and flour
FOURTH: Put a pinch of salt into flour
FIFTH: Put all ingredients into a bowl and whisk
SIXTH: Check that oven is hot as hell if not WAIT till it is.
SEVEN: Spoon small amount of batter into each yorkie dish. Never more than half full.
EIGHT: Into oven for 10 - 12 mins. NEVER OPEN DOOR
Do the dishes while you wait. Turn around they are done.
Risen and golden and delicious. Always. |
