You know how some forums can change swear words by changing letters to an asterix?
And you know how here at Fabs, there are certain words or acronyms that always seem to offend people?
Can admin not change the settings so that when an offending bit of text is typed and posted it actually comes up as something completely different? 
Something amusing?  or something sweet

Yeah, thats cos of the way that userplane managed the old chat. Never been blocked in New chat.
The only way I think that words could be blocked in the forums is if they went over to been HTML forums….which then opens up a bigger can of worms.

HTML? ah right, so it needs a certain set up.
I was on a forum a while back and they had that function, used to have me in stitches! the guy who set up the site would change them now and then for his own amusement, so you'd be typing away and post... and the most bizzare thing would replace ones cusses
I'm not into Censorship really... just thought it would be funny and might help with all the bliddy 'fat' threads that keep starting

Admin on another forum I use bans "christmas" or any other similar words for most of the year. The censor is turned off about 2 weeks before christmas and turned back on a week or so afterwards! Makes quite funny reading when the censor is turned back on and the chosen replacement phrase replaces it! |
