Hey hopefully I can find some answers to this but I'm a curvy plus sized girl and I'd absolutely love to start doing pole classes. Is there anything to be worried about and is my size going to be any problem? I'm pretty strong I'd say |

I was a regular goer at the gym and was reasonably fit and found pole classes horrifically hard. For me it was all about upper body strength which I found out within the first 3 mins I didn't have. Good if you can crack it tho. The long term pole class regulars all had abs

Go for it. They do classes for all abilities building you up. The place I used to go was really supportive and the others in the class amazing girls all there for the same reasons. Go try it and have fun! |

Absolutely not, any form of dancing should be an expression of yourself, embrace those curves and go for it!
It’s great fun and the classes I have been to have been of mixed ages, size and ability, let loose and enjoy it xx |

Give it a go, definitely!!
I tried 6 weeks ago and even though I am quite fit and consider myself to have decent upper body strength, I didn’t make any progress. Couldn’t lift any of my body weight.
What made me stop going was the bruises on my legs. I quite love my legs, I love taking photos of them and the bruises were quite bad and painful, so I gave it up... |

Hey, you're not far from Warrington so you should come to LaKiTa Dance, it's the most amazing pole studio. DM me and I'd be happy to tell you all about it.

Absolutely go for it.
Not only is it good for you physically it does wonders for your confidence and self esteem.
I have always found the classes, instructors and other dancers so welcoming, inclusive and supportive no matter your size or ability.
It’s an incredible art and one you can progress and develop in.
Plus it’s a great excise to buy the most ridiculous heals and skimpy outfits which get skimpier as your confidence grows
Do it. Do it. Do it. You won’t regret it x |

Don't worry about your weight as generally you don't have to be a certain size to do pole! There is so many different weight classes and it's a scene that is very accepting to all walks of life!
A women that I ran into on NYE a few years ago at Pandora got me in the pole scene and it changed my life on so many different levels!

You generally build pole strength as you go along and the confidence you get from nailing that move that you was struggling on is amazing!
It just makes you wanna do more and can be pretty addictive lol! |

It's a shame that you gave up due to bruises! It's just one of those things that comes with the territory but once you get used to them you're off the races!
Just remember the door is always open if you want to return! |

"always wanted to do it, however doubt i could ever be strong enough to lift my own body weight!!"
There's so many different styles of pole now that is taught all over that there's something for everyone! It just depends on how far you wanna go with it! |
