Ok, so this is a bit of a random one but I'd thought I'd ask anyway!
For the past two weeks I've had what seems like a constant headache - it only seems to get really tense after I've done something vigorous (ie running or sex) at which point I need to stop, lay down and let it do it's thing.
It first happened during a meet (which I carried on!) and became very strong after the act to the point I had to pull over and wait for 20 mins. Then I had a constant dull throb in the front of my head for a few days. It happened again later during a run a few days later - again, I had to stop and take a knee until it passed.
I've spoken to the GP who just gave me paracetamol an said it was dehydration - I'm very good with my diet and hydration, and this isn't it. I've done the pee test and it's as clear as its getting without bottling it!
I don't think it's a migraine - I've got family who have those and this only comes to boiling point after exertion.
Any ideas? I've also checked the NHS symptom checker which seems to think I have a brain hemmorage... Really doubt it's that!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
If you have any tension in your shoulders or neck you might experience headaches too. Do you drink tea/coffee or other caffeinated substances? Any withdrawal and that can lead to headaches.
Some non serious medical conditions also have headaches as a side effect. Not all migraines are the same so it may be a migraine, especially as you have a family history of them. Also stop taking paracetomol can cause headaches as well as relieve them. A trapped nerve may also explain a headache, the exercise might be triggering them.
You need to go back to your GP with a full headache diary. Note what you have been eating, fluids and what you have been doing.
Until you know the cause they will continue as worry also causes headaches. |

I do train with weights, I do drink coffee but not to the point where it's an addiction or anything.
I'm a pretty relaxed person and don't tend to be stressed out - my neck and shoulders are no more stiffer than they usually are, and I'm not pushing my body or brain any harder than I have been for the past year.
Cheers for the advice - I'm going to give it a few days before I head back to the GP. I need to get this straightened out! |

That's why I asked. I did something like that once and any form of strenuous exercise or even orgasm brought on a headache which felt like my head would explode. There is a name for it if you google weight related headaches |

he took a month off and came back right as rain. maybe you just need to chill |

id had almost constant headaches for a couple of years but eventually saw a new gp as they sent me to a neuro who diagnosed paroxysmal hemicrania manifests as headaches and migraine only sounds similar cause if i overdo it im knackered for a while even needing to take a migraine pill but meds have it pretty sorted now
go in with as much evidence such as a diary and its harder for them to fob u off
hope it gets better
