Hi,
I don't know either area but my daughter lives in Salford and her Boyfriend lives in Harpurhey. She won't set foot there alone. She says it's dog rough. |

It depends on what you're after I guess, but Stalybridge is a bit of a trek, maybe train isn't bad into Manc but the drive would be a bit of a nightmare for me! |

have a look at prestwich which has good transport links, not to far from city centre and is nice without being over pricey |

I have lived in manchester since the mid 70's and worked as a multi drop driver. So do you intend to work in the city centre? if so there are plenty of apartments in and around the city. . salford has moved up since the BBC re-located there. but you are best coming for a visit and meeting some of the great folks from fab for a few drinks and a chat. |

"We plumped for Stalybridge in the end "
Parts of it are nice, and the country park and reservoir are gorgeous on a day like today. But I love Tameside as a whole, nice and close to the city but on the edge of the pennines too |

If your looking for somewhere near manchester try warrington.. In the following areas grappenhall.. Thelwall.. Lymm.. Latchford.. Orford (not a bad area) there all about 15 - 20 mins driven from manchester and liverpool.. .. Really nice areas too..
I went school in grappenhall.. My sister lived in latchford and regreta moving away.. Lymm is really quiet its a small village.. And orford is where my mum lives.. She has made some great friends.. |
