Manchester

We have seen a couple of places in Manchester M9 postcode we are interested in moving to, one is in Blackley and the other in Harpurhey..no idea if either of these places are good to live in?

If you live in Manchester maybe you could let us know, thanks.

Hi,

I don't know either area but my daughter lives in Salford and her Boyfriend lives in Harpurhey. She won't set foot there alone. She says it's dog rough.

Some parts of M9 are ok. I used to live in Blackley which is M9 and we never had any trouble. Harpurhey itself I would avoid though.

It depends on what you're after I guess, but Stalybridge is a bit of a trek, maybe train isn't bad into Manc but the drive would be a bit of a nightmare for me!

just don't move to droylsden

shootings seem to be de rigeur at the moment

and worse still, ya might bump into me !

in answer to question, blackley dodgyish, harpur hey, wide berth required

have a look at prestwich which has good transport links, not to far from city centre and is nice without being over pricey

I have lived in manchester since the mid 70's and worked as a multi drop driver. So do you intend to work in the city centre? if so there are plenty of apartments in and around the city. . salford has moved up since the BBC re-located there. but you are best coming for a visit and meeting some of the great folks from fab for a few drinks and a chat.

Parts of it are nice, and the country park and reservoir are gorgeous on a day like today. But I love Tameside as a whole, nice and close to the city but on the edge of the pennines too

If your looking for somewhere near manchester try warrington.. In the following areas grappenhall.. Thelwall.. Lymm.. Latchford.. Orford (not a bad area) there all about 15 - 20 mins driven from manchester and liverpool.. .. Really nice areas too..

I went school in grappenhall.. My sister lived in latchford and regreta moving away.. Lymm is really quiet its a small village.. And orford is where my mum lives.. She has made some great friends..

Manchester and that's all you need to know

Your better of in Blackley but your best of doing a night run to check the place out yourself.
