"Celebrity I Haven't "
When I was back in school I met Dave Prowse and Eric Bristow, as well as did a few meet n greets with bands.
The Mrs met Jason Momoa and Peter Dinklidge a few years back, and for her birthday a while back I got backstage passes to a 12 Foot Ninja gig so we hung out with the band. |

When I moved to Wales as a young kid, my dad told me that Tommy David (Welsh Rugby Legend) lived in the house a few doors down and I should go get an autograph...
I knocked on the door and this moustached man mountain answered, but I still asked "are you Tommy David?" The surprised look of 'don't you know who I am, of course I'm fucking Tommy David' was preceless!! |

"Yes I have. I proposed to one as well
Ooo do tell "
Now I know some of you won’t see him as a celebrity but he totally is I proposed to Rick Astley a couple of years ago. I pointed out that we should have been married in 1987 when I fell in love with him but he could make up for it now.
He declined |

Going to nerdy things like comicons, yes all the time.
I've met a few actors & comedians, randomly whilst on train journeys, also.
I used to work in a music shop when i was younger. ( so met lots of musicians via that.)

There and to the left a bit |
Yes several down the years - and most of them have been lovely - treat them as ordinary people and they usually are ordinary people.
One of the best conversations I had with a celebrity lasted about an hour with Lee Thompson (sax player with Madness) and Madness weren't even mentioned. Have done similar with Dave Wakeling of The Beat too.
Probably the biggest celebrity I met was Roger Moore on the tanker set of The Spy Who Loved Me - again he was lovely.
Beyond that have met various members of Madness, Ranking Roger of The Beat (RIP), Norman Watt-Roy (Blockheads), Weller (briefly), Kimberley Walsh, various Spurs players 77 to fairly recently, shook hands with Rico Rodriguez (trombonist with The Specials) and a few more besides |

Met graham Norton at a party, also met Bez at the same party; he was throwing water around and I threatened to punch him.
Met Richard O'Brien at a charity event, miserable sod he was.
met a couple of Sugababes and Boy George at London Pride 2004, knew the organiser so got backstage passes.
Met quite a few rock musicians, Tony Clarkin of Mgnum, Ronnie James Dio, a few of more recent times, JJ Nicholls, Kobra Paige, Sharon Den Adel and others. |

I've met Sean Connery, his sister in law was my boss. I've met Annabel Croft and Una Stubbs, they were staying in the same block of flats in Cheshire during panto season, I showed them how to use the washing machine in the basement. |

Robbie Williams asked me out for a drink. I turned him down.
Bez, shared a funny cigarette with him.
Eric Richard or Sgt Cryer from The Bill at a Motorcycle Run.
Nora Batty outside a jewellers shop in Manchester.
Peter Kay, Dave Spikey, Fred Dibnah and Paddy McGuinness, most of the famous people from Bolton.
I’m sure there’s a few more just can’t remember them. |

I knew ex footballer Mike Duxbury, he used to be among the kids who played on the local playing fields; ex cricketer Graame Fowler, bot local lads from my old hometown. met Guy garvey a few times in pubs around Manchester. And if you want to add proxies, I worked with a woman who dated Garvey at college and one of the other Elbow members [not at the same time]
Add to that my daughter is a musician, just about to release her second album and her boyfriend is in a band well known on the indie circuit. |
