I have no interest in football, however, in my humble opinion, it's nothing to do wanting England to win or lose a game, the team and the supporters i have no issue with either way. I do on the other hand hate the media banging on about it constantly. So the only reason i would have for wanting them to lose is purely so i don't have to hear about it every day for the next 55 years like 1966. So good luck to England but i hope the commentators all lose their voices x

I an Welsh and would love an English victory, not for the fans but for Gareth Southgate and his boys

I think the media would talk non stop about it whoever it was in the UK that got through to the final.

It’s a shame people can’t just support the team and wish them well. They are just trying to do the best they can in the job they do. Not wishing them well won’t stop the media coverage.

As a proud Welshman and pure blooded Celt, I’m getting behind England tonight.

Why; they’ve impressed me with their continued support of BLM/Pride and the fact up have a squad who are a bunch of prima donnas (remember Rooney complaining about being booed after a poor performance in the SA World Cup).

Will they win? Not going to be easy, but they have an evens chance.

Just don’t go on about it for the next 55 years if you do win

I always root for the four nation teams (although Wales is and will always be my top choice, obviously).

I like Gareth Southgate. I hope his team knocks the blocks off Italy, so he will finally be able to leave the ghost of that penalty shoot out in the past and the media FINALLY stop going on about it.

Go on England! Give it some welly!

I have had a bet on Italy to win the competition before the finals started so naturally I want Italy to win, my fantasy team has 7 Italians and 4 English in it so again I want the Italians to win but with a clean sheet.

And last of all, England are our closest and oldest rivals at this sport so it's only natural to want to see them get beat.

Just like most Man u fans would have wanted man city to lose the European cup to Chelsea not that king ago

I have to agree with some of the comments above about the media coverage and how if England do win we will never hear the end of it .

Gareth Southgate has done an amazing job and seems like a really nice bloke. If anyone scores I do hope it’s Raheem Sterling .

Do I want England to win ? As a proud Welshman the answer has to be no but saying that I have had this gut feeling that they will win tonight. They have luck good omens and playing yet again in front of a home crowd on their side

This morning I first became aware that a football match (soccer) is to take place within the next few hours; it just goes to show how out of touch an individual can be!

I have never watched a football match on TV, and last attended on with my father over fifty years ago!

From what I hear soccer is really now a business, that seems to exploit its fanatics, who willingly pay vast sums to watch overpaid celebrities to chase an inflated ball on synthetic grass.

And when i say "our" brothers,i mean our as in our irish brothers, not your brothers

I heard something hilarious in the nail salon Friday.

A woman with a very strong Scottish accent was talking to lady doing her nails and saying she thinks the whole thing is a conspiracy.

She said it just seems convenient that the England team are doing so well just as the government are about to release colvard restrictions and it is probably been manufactured for England to win so the government can feed on the feel good factor!

Yes I'm sure she's right that all of the teams in Europe have decided to throw the game and let England win because we had a tough year!!

One of the other ladies then said how we still in the euros because we are not part of Europe any more! It's a good job I had my face covering on becas my face was a picture but I did keep it zipped.

All this talk about the media. Who would like to bet if england do loose

The reports will not be how italy won but about how the fans behaved and the number of additional covid cases that will come from this and how wrong it was for the government to allow so many fans in to wembley during a pandemic. Time we binned the BBC or made then fund themselves.

English here living in Wales. I honestly couldn't care less. I don't know what time the match starts and wouldn't be prepared to bet much that I know who they're playing (is it Italy?) Or what the competition is (I thought from the hype it was the world Cup but sostenuto not, some European thing? )

I work from home so listen to Spotify never a radio, never watch live TV or the news and as nearly all my FB contacts are Welsh and few are big football fans its fairly easy to ignore there too.

I will be working this eve and probably won't know the result till sometime in the week - unless they lose in which case I may get a piss taking meme or two from Welsh friends.

It didnt go to Var did it ?..and those " everyone " were all English no doubt ..BUT what you didnt say or see was the foul that he committed BEFORE he got the ball and that was what the free out at that time was for..Kane fouled the Dane first before he went down...so it was a free out before he was fouled.

"Hope to see ITALY win, but l am worried about the probability of the VAR man siding again with a decision to favour England, please dont say its not gonna happen , the VAR decision in the semi was an absolute disgrace and it helped get England into the final...whos to say there wont be another one to win it for them ...

And there was a foul against England that should have been a penalty and everyone said so. That’s football

How do you know they were all English? You’re making up what you don’t know now

Wasting your time pointing that out, people are blind to see only what they want to see.

"

Point it out all ya want..the Ref gave a free out before Kane was fouled because Kane fouled the Dane to get the ball in the first place so twas a free out before he was fouled

I want England to win but I get embarrassed to be associated with many of the England supporters. Booing the opposition National anthem is so unsportsmanlike

Win some you loose some, same in every game, always been the way always will be, check the footage of some wrong decisions over the years, one maybe, should be or shouldn’t be doesn’t make the game we were the better team.

Here we go anyway and we are proud of the English team for coming this far no matter of the result tonight they have done us proud and given us a bit of much needed joy and that’s just made It more joyous.

"Thats why most don't like England because of some of the so called 'fans" absolute disgrace, no wonder other countries hate having to host them

That’s your opinion but it doesn’t make it fact. I’ve just watched an interview with the Italians and they certainly don’t agree with you. They talk about mutual respect and sportsmanship.

Exactly...my opinion, just as you have yours.

Personally I couldn't care less where the trophy ends up, at the end of the day, nobody's life is going to change apart from the overpaid men on/off the pitch.

But lots of people are excited and they are allowed to be!

No-one is saying they shouldn't

I understand you don't care but lots of people do.

I disagree that if they win no ones life will change because actually its is a real good feel good factor and for goodness sake we all need that after the last 18 months.

Where did I say that lots of people don't?

It is a real good factor for people who like and support the team, for others like me, it's just a game. "

Considering you don't like it and couldn't care less you are very vocal about it.

Insulting anyone is unnecessary and unfair. The team have conducted themselves professionally throughout the tournament.

I can’t see what the score is, my TV is too narrow, I’m trying to read the body language of the crowd and work it out, no clues there, there’s singing but that could mean anything.

Thank you, I guessed because of the slightly hunched shoulders of some of the Italian fans.
