I remember seeing something about the difference with sleeping with your door open or closed during a house fire. Scared the shit out of me, so all doors are closed at night |

I was about to mention this. Doors closed for fire safety! |

No, Mines ajar.
I straddle both worlds!
I sleep so heavily a Motorhead tribute band could play away & I would not move.
So, bothering about whether burglars are going to steal things or have sex without my permission is pointles! |

"The OP's posts leave me thinking of the German Tank Problem just looked up the German tank problem none the wiser
It's about creating a full picture by gathering seemingly unrelated info "

Used to be open to listen to the children when a single.
When not single closed last one to bed.
Nowadays its always open and its more of a security thing as I listen to the house.
Can wake up with a funny noise in the house realy easily. |

"Open so my cats can walk in, jump on my chest and wake me up in the middle of the night. They'd be upset if they couldn't do this."

"Always closed... or we end up waking up to children just stood staring at us like something out a horror film "
That happened to me just once when they were little and the littlest one said, "Mummy, who's the scary person in bed with you?" The thing is, I was in bed alone... |

I keep my door closed now to stop my brat of a cat doing this and as she has learned to open doors, I shove a door wedge under the door to stop her from breaking in. Sometimes she scrats at the door briefly but soon gives up. I sleep so much better by locking her out. |
