Who remember the saddest moments in live action movies that get us all teary eyed?
Satine's death in Moulin Rouge is so sad and hearing Christian's cry of grief is enough to make you cry with him.
The T800's heroic sacrifice in Terminator 2 is so iconic and one of the most memorable tearjerking moments in cinema history.
"I know now why you cry but it's something I could never do." |

When the black rabbit comes at the end of Watership Down, I can't watch the film knowing it happens.
A dogs way home, when the kids remove the dog's collar. I know it is stupid, but the only time we ever remove our dogs collar, is when they don't come back from the vets. |

The ending of The Green Mile is sad especially when John is about to be executed and just as they're about to put the shroud on John's head, he says "Please, boss. Don't put that thing on my face.. Don't put me in the dark... I'm afraid of the dark....." |

End of the notebook, when he is begging her to stay for just a few more minutes.
There’s also a film with robin williams in which he goes to the afterlife which is depicted as paintings. He meets his dog, which for me was sad as his dog had the same name as mine which had died a few weeks before. |

Willem Defoe in Platoon.
The bit at the end of Wild Geese(I know, it's crap, but if it has Roger Moore, Richard Harris and Richard Burton in it HAS to be seen. Just imagine the drinking on set..) which is exactly the same now I think of it.
Near the end of Fellowship where Merry and Pippin know the only chance to save their friend is to create a distraction by sacrificing themselves..followed by them desperately attacking(even throwing stones!) in an attempt to protect the wounded Boromir from the marauding horde of orcs slowly killing him, shot by devastating shot.
The kids trying to save ET in the back of the stolen ambulance.
Sean Connery's death in Highlander(when i was 12.. )
Ditto in The Untouchables.
Oh. God. Brokeback Mountain..
Also the end of Butch and Sundance. Again when i was a bit younger..
