I can’t possibly believe this is true. Is there any sort of source for this OP? Has it been in, I don’t know, anything like the news lately?
I’m guessing you wouldn’t just make this up, right? |

Fun fact* : bears can smell up to 80 miles away
(*or so I was once told, although I’ve never actually independently fact verified this) |

The bear literally attacked the poor lady while she was sleeping in her tent. It's in lots of papers including the New York times. I started researching this and even found a piece by an ex SAS soldier giving tips on how to survive in bear country and what to do if you come across a bear and how to camp more safely. Cases are on the rise |

Be great if the Bears decided that every time a human shoot's and kills a bear for "fun" all the Bears hunt down the human and eat them.
Honestly I don't get why the shock "breaking news"
Woman goes camping in a wild area with wild bear's and gets attacked.
It's kinda like being surprised at
"Breaking news"
Man walks in fast lane of a motorway and gets killed.
How can this happen ban all car's. |

Anyone that goes camping with a can of “bear spray” has accepted the risk.
On a supplementary note, if it is proven that bears prefer to eat cyclists, I wonder what the possibility of getting them reintroduced to the UK is? |

Not a good idea as it is also proven they prefer to eat nurses and our NHS is already short staffed. |

Well looking at the news reports the bear came into the camp but was scared off. The campers THEN removed the food they had inside their tents and went back to sleep and the bear returned later and dragged the woman from her tent, she died.
Looks like the bear was attracted to the smell of food from inside their tents so went looking for it. That's why you are meant to store your food away from the camp in bear territory. |

It's true I saw it on line...it's a Grizzly Bear ...they where all camping whilst doing some thing for charity near where they all are...it had already visited the camp site once...it then came back and dragged her out of her tent...the rest of them managed to get rid of the bear with a spray, must have been bloody awful for them especially the poor women. They are looking for it to kill it....that's shocking too |

We get bears all the time. There was a attack recently that it killed the family dog. If you in bear country you are considered a snack unless you are prepared. Not the bears fault. |

One of the main reasons. Kind of foolish to trust sleeping in bear domains without considering the consequences. |

You're not really a nature fan are you Tom? Today it's bears, before it was sharks. Top predators will sometimes mistake humans for their prey, they aren't mindless killers though. |

So if it's you or the bear then who would you rather survive..

Not the point. We should respect nature and not walk mindlessly into their habitat. |

Basically. Or at the very least, if I'm going to walk through bear country, I'll take a lot of care. Attacks of this nature happen so rarely because local people normally respect the animals and understand how to live at peace with them. I'm not saying I know how, as there aren't bears in the UK (we hunted them to nothing many years ago I believe, aren't we wonderful) but I would follow the advice of experts. |

"Bears are native to Montana, hardly on the loose..
We get Blackbears constantly so if you not prepared for that situation you could become a victim. "
I carry my Glock all the time. Especially when momma bears are out with the Cubs. I try and avoid at all costs. But sometimes you have to scare them off. |

"Loose in me
I thought you where getting hairier
I need some growl emoji Grrrrrrrr
Bring me the honey "
Honey set out your bins they come running at 3am. We had to get bear boxes. I do love the momma bears watching them with Cubs are a sight to see. The Cubs are extremely curious. We had a bruin on our front porch he kept setting off our ring alarm. It's OK annoying sometimes but if you respect what they can do there is generally no issues. They fun to have around. Racoons on the other hand is a different story. |

British friends of mine had a B&B business (or Inn) in Vermont, in a ski resort area, for 15 years.
Bears were regular visitors especially in heavy snow conditions, trying to get into the rubbish bins.
One morning after serving breakfasts to guests, whilst her husband was working in the kitchen, my friend took her dog for a walk on the nearby hill.
She was confronted by a wildlife ranger who asked her what the hell she was doing? Had she not listened to local news? She explained she & husband had only taken over 2 months ago.
He explained, a pack of wolves were nearby, and had already attacked a dog, plus seriously injuring the dog's owner. As he spoke, he spotted the Pack about 500 yds away. He radioed for help, which arrived promptly to get her off the hillside.
She learnt very quickly just how dangerous it was there. But the worst animal were the Skunks. If they got disturbed, their sprayed liquid took weeks to clean and such an awful smell. |

Lol skunks my dogs haven't learn their lessons yet. Our daschund is the asshole that instigates. He does not care if he gets sprayed. Tomato juice and baking soda at least 5 times a year. |
