Love it and need it ! Just like 'doing nothing' or 'resting' the space that silence allows is crucial to clear thinking and recovery of energy.

Depends where I am. If I'm somewhere beautiful, like in a meadow or looking out at a lake, then I love it. If I'm alone in my house, I'm less keen and usually put some music on!

I hate it. Between tinnitus and my own thoughts it's a no no. I've always got something on to listen too or background noise, just anything to occupy my ears

My mind's never silent, but I'm comfortable with silence, I enjoy and appreciate it and get a bit annoyed when I can hear next doors television or voices through the connecting wall

Silence in the house I can't stand it, have to put music on or something. Silence outside is a totally different thing and I love it. Happily sit or lie and drink it in

I was sitting the last five minutes at work today alone and in glorious silence. I almost considered just sitting there for rest of the afternoon rather than do all the other things that needed doing. Quite partial to a radio though. Unless I am trying to sleep and then its silence, or the rain.

I love the sound of rain on windows, and the noise of waves breaking on pebbles. Or even better than pebbles, Dead Horse Bay, where the waves lapping against all the broken bottles sounded like eerie windchimes. Madly soothing.

It's in Brooklyn, but if you're ever there for any length of time I'd definitely take a morning out to visit it. It's a slog to get to from Manhattan but is one of the most interesting places I've been to.

I love the sound of silence on top of a mountain somewhere but unfortunately the lockdown Insta crew have stolen that silence.

Never understood the point of wearing headphones in the countryside.

I was hoping you might say Wales. I will put it on the travel bucket list. I love finding the tiny bits of beach glass on our beaches. Wonder if Brooklyn is were it is all born
