Disneyland (the business) has been publicly chastised, by the French Minister for Citizenship, for the behaviour of two of its employees who breasted a female visitor from Australia for feeding her baby in public.
When are we going to get rid of these Victorian attitudes about our bodies and the natural processes we perform to rear our young,in public?
Defection and urination in public area leave behind an offensive, polluting mess, but breastfeeding rears the next generation.

Seems like the park have apologised (after pointing out it has dedicated areas then back tracking a bit!) and said it is not reflective of their values.
Over zealous staff perhaps, rather than a corporate crime? |

The staff, both females, who intervened should have had the wit to realise that breastfeeding is perfectly natural and 'offends' very few people!
The organisation, Disneyland, whose principal target market is children (pester power) should train their staff to be more 'enlightened' towards nursing mothers and their infants. |

And the battle continues. In my breastfeeding days me and my friends used "Thank you for nursing in public. We applaud you!" Give away cards. Sometimes it's nice to be the change. Acknowledge with positivity. |

Breastfeeding is perfectly natural ffs why does society see breasts as purely sexual objects they are mammary glands all female mammal have them just humans have bigger than most. A mother should be able to feed her baby when and where she likes without having to cover herself or her baby up in case she offends others. Very victoriana attitude. Same with naturism public nudity is not a crime or a sexual act (unless said person is acting that way which true naturists don't). I wouldn't mind but for all there prim and proper ways Victorians were no saints! Alot went nude and let's be honest women were sold vibrators back then under the guise of back massagers! The Victorians were a randy lot who had more kids per family than we do now. Yet if anything we are more pc about these things than ever! To point we berate a mother for doing the most natural thing and what her breasts are designed for. Rant over. |

I imagine it’s more lack of education from staff. Breastfeeding is protected by law in the UK and I would hope it is in other countries also, I know many are. I guess if you’ve not experienced breastfeeding then it can be a thing that may shock some. Society has lead many to believe breast’s sole purpose is for sex and for them to be “out” may make others somewhat shocked.
This is why we need education, we need breastfeeding to be normal, it needs to be protected and not shamed. I have breastfed for over 4.5 years in total, and hope to continue now. In that time I’ve had 2 negative comments for feeding in public, and both times I’ve laughed it off. I’m confident at feeding wherever I am whatever I’m doing, I guess I could be an easy target for abuse. But scenarios like the one mentioned is rare. |

I brestfed 4, anywhere and everywhere in public and at home. I only once was asked, if I wanted a chair in private to feed. NO! and I carried on walking round the shop feeding.
Between nappy changes, feeding, sleeping, other kids to look after not to mention other everyday life, time can be so limited. You can't go off and find time in private ect to feed. Feeding in public is the only way sometimes. A screaming hungry baby, and mums hormones raging. Mums should be able to feed. And not be riduculded by doing somthing that breasts were desinged for. Boobs have been sexualised for many years, page 3 for example. |

I was recently in a local forest picnic area; a young woman was breastfeeding her infant at a seat next to a children's play area; no-one even looked towards her. Wonderful; people respected her right to privacy; as it should be.
Ten years ago, I suspect attitudes (in Ireland) were different. Their might have been disapproving glances; potential complaints and children being hauled away. |
