I'm able to put down the textbooks for a couple of months so I can finally read for joy again. Currently I've got Outsider by Stephen King on the go. It's more of a straight murder mystery than the horror he's typically known for but I'm really enjoying it so far.
What are you reading? Any recommendations? |

There and to the left a bit |
Just finished Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman and wish I hadn't bothered - he's a very talented man but IMHO author is not his forte.
Currently reading Wish You Were Dead by Peter James which is a short Roy Grace story of about 100 pages.
After that I have a few options but leaning towards Roger Daltrey's autobiography |

Half Has Never Been Told: Sl*very and the Making of American Capitalism by Edward E Baptist.
Not the cheeriest of reads, but really interesting. I thought I was reasonably well informed, I've learnt an awful lot however. |

"I’ve just finished the chimp paradox
Has it helped? "
Yeah hugely I’ve completely changed the way I deal with things. Understanding that you have more than one input coming from your brain helps your take a much more logical approach to situations |

Missin’ Yo’ Kissin’ |
An autobiography that has been done by Shane Mcgowan (Pogues), and his girlfriend.
So, I know it will not have been ghosted by some writer. It's very good so far...
I will only read about rock stars though. |

"I'm reading The Last Wish, the first Witcher book. It's alright! The stories are nice, though the writing (or the translation to English) is a bit clunky"
I found as the series continued the quality of the translation improved.
I work with a Polish lady and was discussing the books with her husband and apparently the early stuff is viewed as a little amateurish even in Polish so improve in the later books. |

My favourite Stephen King book, by far, is his "On Writing".
It's half autobiography, but focused on why and how he became a writer, and half going into a bit more detail of the mechanics of writing.
It's incredibly entertaining and illuminating. A really useful and yet fun read, whatever sort of writing you may do, even if it's just emails at work! |

I've just finished Flow my Tears, the Policeman Said by Philip K Dick, a metaphysical excursion into the illusory nature of the human condition.
About to start The Great Gatsby, which I've been meaning to read for some time. |

I am currently reading Patrick O'brien Aubery And Maturin series of books. If you like 19th century seafaring tales I recommend them. |

I'm reading "IT" by Stephen king. I'm not going to lie, I struggle reading his books with all the time hopping and character overloads. But my 12yo sister is reading it too and I can't be out done by a teenager haha |

Still reading Shane MacGowan's autobiography "A Drink With Shane Macgowan" - done by himself & his girlfriend.
Its taking time as I read creative practical magazines on the side too!
So far I'm reading about him as a kid in Irealand. It's totally bonkers but captivating at the same time...
He's drinking Stout at five & smoking???? His story's about things & relatives pulls you in. Really enjoying it to be honest! |

Please don’t think I like classic books only. I’ve usually got my nose stuck in a Lee child or an Andy Mcnab novel
And my favourite is still Rambo by David Morell |
