What inspires you to be a better human being

I actually think that most humans get better rewards from giving than from taking. Carl Rogers said this I think, in his book "On becoming a person" - written in the sixties it is still a great starter for anybody interested in the field of counselling / therapy.
It is lovely to know I made somebody happy, even for a short moment. |

I’ve always helped others around me and put loved ones first to the point that I stopped thinking about what I need.
This year as been a shit one to start with lost three really close people already. And failed to spot that I hadn’t grieved over any of them. I think sometimes I’m a terrible person. |

This. I’ve been walked over so much. Helped so many people over the years and now I have a I don’t give a shit attitude and although I will still help people I’m much more cautious and no longer take things at face value |

You do not sound like a terrible person to me - in fact, I just looked at your profile and you do sound like somebody who puts other people's needs before his own. That is a lovely trait as long as it does not deplete you of enough energy and care for yourself. |

Hard to say,I've always tried to be a decent human being and have respect for others,be polite and honest, trustworthy true to myself.
This is an attitude that I've tried to maintain since I was around 20
Before that I was a total dick and off the rails.
Now for me I see all the arrogance and selfishness in the world so now more than ever I think it's important to try and be better, be caring and sensitive and live by certain standards rather than doing whatever the hell I want.
So I guess other people Inspire me to be better. People like Sir Tom and the like.
I wish I was a better person and not so judgemental. |

My morals, my work ethic, my desire to treat people as I would want to be treated, my sense of social responsibility, the responsibilities I have over those people in my care.

When I see some of the struggles people face with issues in life it certainly does make you take a step back and think about things, so basically others inspire me !! |
