Why is it that some people take some posts so seriously.
A few of my threads as a rule are tongue in cheek, meant to be taken with the pinch of salt they deserve and raise a chuckle every now and then, so lighten up all you serious people, this place is supposed to be about fun. |

I think sometimes when someone reads a sentence it can be interpreted differently depending on the mood they are in, if someone has had a bad day they won’t see the humour and just look for things to pick at? And in these forums I find things can spiral fastttt
It’s the biggest issue with doing humour over text I find |

You can’t read intonation via text and most infer their own tone into what they’re reading,
If your humour is quite dry, then many won’t pick up on it. It’s a cross to bear OP and why emojis are a thing |

Fair point OP, and you're probably including my earlier response to one of your other threads, but unless people have become very familiar with the threads you post, its not always clear if you're serious or not.
I kinda suspected it was tongue in cheek, but someone new to the forum might not realise that.
That was all. Wasn't a lack of sense of humour.
I think the crux of it is that often it can be difficult to tell with the written - or printed word.

I take a fair few things "serious" but I like discussion and I am an over thinker, I look in to things too much, usually unintentionally.
