The bloody dog rolled in fox poo while out walking with his walker today, and he stinks!
He is looking all innocent with those big expressive eyes of his.
I shall shampoo him down in the shower after his evening walk.
He loves being blow-dried though, so it should be fun.

its a hunting thing. dogs will roll in fox poo to disguise their scent for whin they get in range of a fox, to the dog its a primeval thing.
In much the same way hunters will cover themself in deer poo to disguise their scent.... Also any one who has been engaged in Jungle warfare knows that you should not wash, smoke, chew gum etc for a few days before you go on patrol cos clean is a detectable scent while unclean isnt (or so my old man, who fought insurgents in kenya and malaya said....)

"What is it with dogs and fox poo its like a magnet to them... "
our german shepherd hates foxes,we have loads of them by us as we live next to fields, they make a right racket to each other and late at night i have seen around 20 all together under a street light sniffaling having a meet up and that was a unusual sight.Anyway when she's on the fields she tracks them so i think the scent drives the dog crazy |

We have a fox run going through our garden.... have been leaving little smelly things all over the place
Have to find them before our dogs do.
It reeks to high heaven.
Not that i've got anything against them as they were here before we moved in.
Just wish it wasn't our garden they left presents in |

"He has to go on a diet, as he is big for his breed.
Mummy's fault, as we both like our food. "
Funnily enough we got told off at the vets pearl, our yorkie is overweight, apparently it's my fault for giving her too much off my dinner.

I was in the pet shop today and saw they do a special shampoo for dogs specifically for getting rid of the smell of fox poo. It was only about £6 so worth a try for those who are blighted by it.
My last dog had a habit of sniffing out small dead mammals when we were out walking and liked nothing better than to roll around on top of a dead mouse or two. Gross! |
