Spanish Painting 'Restoration'

Did anyone else marvel at the ancient painting that the 80+years old lady 'restored' in the Spanish church. She realised it needed some touching up/makeover.

The pristine as well as damaged before and after shots were hilarious. Maybe she could earn some money, to help in her retirement, as her art naif style is in demand, in many quarters.

There are many pictures of Jesus, but only one that looks like an old lady, painted by an old lady, some might argue it represents more of a monkey, but I think there's gotta be some self-portrait in there too.

Anyway, all the photos of Jesus have been lost or destroyed, over the passage of time, so there's no real knowing what he looked like.

Should Banksy get in there, and add one of his takes on it? She had a job at the Louvre, some years back, and her re-touching of the Mona Lisa resulted in an 80's big hair perm to modernise it.

I need to get a life as this story has had me chuckling for the last three days. It's still not getting old!

Speaking as an artist and art historian she should be locked up! She should have known better!

It would have been contempory 20 years ago during the acid house scene.

Nowadays it looks a tad retro for contemporary tastes

It's flavoured my dreams, as I've been dreaming in monkey colour since.

She was just, I think, a local church goer, who thought it wise to top up the paint. No specialist knowledge of needing to prime the plaster, or whatever it is that needs to be done for such work. As well as using appropriate artistic skills to precisely reproduce what was originally painted.

Anyone needing their Fab photos retouched, she will likely do it for a few euros.

I'm sure she started small, and then kept added a bit more, when she realised that perhaps her first brush stroke wasn't quite perfect. Sadly, it all got out of hand. The poor love was really doing her best.
