The Olympics have banned swimming caps made for some long hair styles. Shame on you IOC. It's only a haircut. Surely no advantage in a large bathing cap.

Does a large package (in your Speedos) hinder your swimming abilities Tom?

You would need a steady hand on the rudder

I read this earlier and was going to start a thread about it. It's absolutely ridiculous. Their reasoning being that it doesn't follow the contour of the head.... Nothing to do with giving and performance enhancing ability just aesthetic reasoning and the fact that no one has had to use one before..... Perhaps because they weren't available given that soul cap has only bee trading for 4 years

Tom does not swim. He fears the water.

If I remember. A few olympics past. I think the Russian team ask if their swimmers could swim naked. They had worked out by shaving off body hair and no swimsuit , less resistance in water . It was turned down .

Yes. That's exactly an equivalent story

Were they turned dosn purely based on aesthetic reasoning?!

Let's make this Clear. Tom is not frightened of water. He is frightened of drowning. He fears the chemicals in swimming pools and those dangerous buggers that lurk beneath the waves

No but there is a fish in the Amazon that swims up your Japs eye if you piss in the river. Try holidaying there sometime and report back

Very strange indeed.

The Governing body said the caps did not fit “the natural form of the head” and to their “best knowledge the athletes competing at the international events never used, neither require … caps of such size and configuration”.

Whatever that means

To be fair...if they resemble a shark's fin on the water then it's pretty scary for me
