"Trying to learn Japanese again which is really hard, I know a little German as well, at least enough to order a drink "
Japanese has got to be really difficult I would imagine! |

Pidgin French, again enough to order the essentials.. Beer/food/ladies of loose virtue, and a little more Italian (currently ongoing, albeit very slowly!) if anyone fancies practicing their Latin tongue with me then I'd be more than happy |

Yes, learning German is an ongoing passion/pain in the arse. I speak decent Spanish and ok French but Deutsch is another level for me, and I’m guessing Greek has its challenges too ! |

I d say for any language learner of any language, do not EVER worry about mistakes you make. Just talk - the locals will be so much more sympathetic if you try, they will actually find the mistakes funny.
Always better to try than not to, sacrifice grammar for better communication (just words if need be - I have been there many times and it works |

I've been doing a minimum of 10 minutes of Spanish on Duolingo for 440 continuous days
I believe I could now get by if i was living in Spain.
Didn't know any Spanish before lockdown |

I speak Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, French and Japanese fluently, but struggle with my trying to learn Portuguese, and my native English. ( It sounds flashy, but my Dad was Army and we lived in a lot of places, so I picked up the languages as a child…)

"6 years of learning Latin at school was enough for me I'm afraid
What use is, agricola iacto hasta to anyone "
Interesting!
I did Latin for 5 years, also at school, and I loved every minute of it. So logical, so structured and I am really glad I did like it because today it really helps learning other languages, especially the Roman ones, but also it helps understand the different grammar categories and allows me so often to work out a meaning of a word that I don't know. Mind you - it really does help when you like the subject. |

"I've downloaded an app for Spanish and Welsh. Welsh more a refresher.
I have trouble with English lol"
I know you didn’t mean this in a bad way in the slightest, and learning Welsh is a marvellous thing! Just to stress that Welsh isn’t a “foreign” language, which is what the OP asks about. It’s the oldest language of the UK and has official status . |

I have a download on Spotify to help me try and speak Spanish unfortunately I've not listened to it since Christmas and have forgotten quite a bit.
I think I'll have a listen again later |

I don’t know whether they could squeeze a course in, but even some awareness-raising about its importance and survival against huge odds would be transformative.
