Watched the trailer on Netflix last night and it looks worth a watch.
I’d based my entire assumptions about the series based on the pic of Elizabeth Moss in that bonnet so I was thinking ‘pffft period drama? No ta’   |

Good idea for these kind of series. I do love a marathon binge. I can't wait for the rest of 'Killing Eve'. But you know you can't watch BBCiplayer outside of the UK. |

She directs a few episode and some bits are really intense.

The first season was a tonally perfect recreation of the book even if it took some (justifiable) liberties with the source material.
Even within its own internal logic, it has got more implausible as it has gone on but has remained superbly acted and visually sumptuous.
The one plot hole that really grates on me is that all the handmaids were implanted with tracking devices and yet manage to remain elusive. |

It might be a plot device to show that Gilead isn't as all-powerful as it thinks it is. After all, they've been fighting a war against the remnants of the US for years. |

I'm not sure about Prime but all series are on Channel 4.
It's definitely great, thought inspiring TV. Its 1st series at the time after Trump's election, was especially so. The book is fantastic and the show progresses from it, from series 2.
The new series has much increased quality IMO, perhaps as they had longer to produce it.
Certainly watch series 1, as it's so unique and thought provoking, in addition to the high quality performance |
