Just my thoughts on venue for the quarter finals. Venues have been a little fluid right up to the start of the tournament with Wales removed and tonight has made me think. We had a last 16 match with teams and fans located in London and the next oponents with teams and fans based in Scotland. Why make everyone go to Italy next. Surely some common sense and a little bit of thought could have based the next game in either Scotland or England to avoid mass transport in covid times. |

Good evening....I understand your point but the venues for the matches had already been selected a long time ago and UEFA would never change then at such short notice.
They even threatened to move the final from London if their 2,000 officials couldn't attend! |

Good evening....I knew that when Grealish came on he would make something happen. It was good to see Kane score his first goal too.

Thats my point....it was just last week UEFA threatened to move the final. Changes have been made and threatened at short notice. The tournament has been altered due to covid restrictions over the last 2 years so why didn't someone look at the fixtures 3 months ago and say it would make sense that this qf could be played in the uk. |

It was jolly hot, but we had a good day out. It's the first time we've had both our children on a proper day out for about 18 months so it was lovely! My shoulders are feeling it though, very steep hills in the grounds and my leg is very sore because so much of the animal areas had bumpy walkways and my foot kept slapping the footplate. It's worth the pain though! |

Climate change, innit
We partly went out to the zoo dressed for poorer weather. Poor Mr KC carried coats round till lunchtime; I lambasted him for putting our daughter in a summer dress with no sleeves ( ); I wore jeans and we only had remnants of suncream in a bottle. Despite this, no-one got burnt, no-one got heat exhaustion and our daughter didn't freeze! Parenting win |

"It will soon be the midnight hour...
I'm going to show this to my neighbour. Maybe his watch has stopped
What are they doing? "
Scr@ping stuff off the party wall behind our bed. Plaster coming off, I think. And hammering. Also they've got "Must Have Died in Your Arms Tonight" on the stereo |

"Why is my next door neighbour doing DIY on the party wall at this hour?! Is it not reasonable to expect such things to stop before nearly-midnight?!

The lad upstairs has been playing awful bloody music since 7pm. Just boom boom boom - doing my head in.
I'm gonna have a bath & put AC/DC on full blast |

I had a day off work to go and buy the album on vinyl in 1980, and the track itself is the only ringtone that I've ever had "
And a splendid choice, may I say?!
Good news - silence has, at least temporarily, descended on the party wall! |

I actually watched Axl the other night on YouTube when he was standing in for Brian, he made a right good job of it, wish I could have seen one of those gigs |

"Good eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevening Ash, good eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevening all.
Congratulations on the win Rose.
Can anyone tell me what exactly is coming home? Do I need to sign on delivery or will they leave it behind the wheelie bin if I’m out? "
I hope not. One little thing I've liked about the pandemic, not having to sign for things. |

Good eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevening, Iain. I'm good. England's victory over Germany was sweet. And I've got a weekend away this weekend. |

I didn't watch any football, as I cannot abide the game; hate it so much!
Hang on, you're away this weekend? How are we gonna cope? Anyone covering you? I hope it's a good excuse for going |

"On this day 1980 the sixpence was demonetised after being in use since 1551 and twelve years after the introduction of decimal currency.
That's why I don't eat Christmas Pudding anymore "
Oh, Ace. I didn't realise the sixpence was in use as late as 1980. |

The 10 Shilling banknote would have been recognisable to every schoolchild in Britain, a fact that certainly isn't the case today! Worth the equivalent of 50p, back then it would have bought you 6 pints of beer, 10 loaves of bread, or 17 pints of milk. It's hard to imagine a 50p going so far these days!
I didn't copy and paste that from Google at all |
