"I got messaged by a profile wanting to meet, but when I asked for a photo they said no. Am I silly for wanting to see the person before I meet them?"
Not silly at all, without seeing a pic of them how can you tell if there is even any physical attraction and that's before you even start to get into the safety aspects of meeting someone. |

I can understand people wanting to keep their anonymity till the very last minute. But there needs to be a certain exchange of trust before a meet. A photo I think for most of us is a basic requirement before a meet. |

Very sensible.
If someone messages me without either having pictures abailable on their profile or attached in their message, I used to give them one more chance to send one.
Now I'm far stricter on this.
No picture in the first exchange of messages and that's the end of the conversation.
With mobile phones all having built in, high quality cameras there is no excuse for being unable to provide a picture.
This is not blind date |

"Never ever meet with any sort of confirmation of whom they are...a photo is never a guarantee either. Phone call or video call is best"
In this day and age, with all the tech you kids have these days, a video call shouldn't be a big ask.
Get off my lawn. Etc. |

I don't send photos on here but will allow the potential meet to see me on my mobile - as a live image that is even better than a picture (who could be anybody)
No picture (on or offline) no meet. Categorically no meet. |
